Good Morning Bump! Any updates?

I'm pretty sure we need to set the caravan date for Wednesday so we are down for Thursday's event. Just looking to confirm so we can make sure rooms are reserved on Wednesday too.

 

As far as the track day... I can update with regards that they have started laying the SECOND layer of asphalt for the track. This is good news. But we're not out of the woods yet. Work still needs to be done to ensure participant safety, and that is our main concern.

I will be contacting the track next week to make the go/no-go decision for Thursday's track day based on progress of the facilities at that point.

 

Lots of updates, should finalize many things by the weekend and look for zdayz.com/asphaltventures.com to reflect those soon.

We haave gained/lost sponsors, some have changed logos, these will be updated.

the event schedule is solidifying nicely and will be posted oh so soon.

Sponsoring clubs will be reached out to for the events very soon.

all the chaos is congealing nicely into a nice event jello mold.

The track event has some very serious backing to it, but I leave that to Stack.

Ahhhh I can't freaking wait. Still can't find a room, but im coming anyways. What better way to be one with the Z then to sleep in here, wake up and drive.

 

It is official Fontana Village is full. While I am making website updates this weekend I'll turn on over flow lodging. Sadly overflow is 30 minutes away, but that is all there is left

 

Did you not get my PM, or do you just not like the idea of sleeping on a couch or air mattress?

It's ok if you don't want to stay with us, I just want to make sure you know our cabin is an option for you.

 

anyone know how far robinsville is from Fontana village? What about the camp site at fontana is it full? Thier web site is hard to navigate could not find out if the cmp area is full. I live at the bottom of the dragon so I may have to make the drive each day, going home at night in the dark would suck big time. Hope to see you all there.

 

Depends on how fast you hit the twisties from what I remember it was like 20-25 minute drive. BTW if you dont have verizon you will not get coverage in Fontana. I had to drive to robbinsville to get a signal because I had T-mobile

 

The first 3 years that I went ,we stayed at Nantahala Village 20-25 min away (open roadway). But then the last 4 times we've stayed on site...it's a win/win. Nantahala has a huge wedding that weekend so I cancelled and got the 3br Magnolia cabin. But for those with no place to stay...call Nantahala and tell them ur with the wedding and get their rate, I did and it would've saved me $90.00

Well folks, it saddens me but there will not be a track day @ AMP this year. They just will not be able to have the track ready in time. trying to scramble and see what we can get done for thursday

sorry folks, I hate to bring bad news, but the sooner the announcement the better, that way people can plan accordingly

 

I certainly hope we can do something next year. By that time the track should have been open for more than a few months, worked some kinks out, maybe even have built some permanent facilities by this time next year as well.
