Sorry to hear this Bryan but thanks for all the hard work to try and make this happen. I'm still ok with keeping the original schedule and coming down on Wednesday. I look forward to whatever you do have planned for Thursday.

Injected Performance and/or Forged Performance may be willing to help out organizing the airstrip. Otherwise, like the first time around, it can be member driven. Having a N/A and FI class worked well last year.

Just to let anyone that does not have a room in the village ( like me ), the Microtel in Robinsville still has a few rooms left - 828-479-6772. The old lady at the desk said a few members already have rooms booked. I asked her and she said it take < 30 minutes to drive to the village, so I guess we can make it in 15!

Ya know... we could probably make a pretty decent circuit using the Roads in/around Fontana Village

I'm picturing in my head the classic rally videos where the crowds line the streets and "part" as the cars fly by

I have access to cones, but I live >1k miles away and could only bring 10 or so in my Z.

"The Mothership" (our Magnum RT) could carry a lot more, but it only gets about 19mpg @75 MPH. That would be some serious $$$ just to haul cones. (~$400 round trip)

I doubt my club would let me drag the expensive timing equipment up there.

Maybe a local (closer to local) club could host an event at the airstrip. I can't envision a large enough space at Fontana.

I like the idea of an autocross, but there are some logistic and equipment issues to overcome.

I don't normally volunteer to work while I'm on vacation, but I have a lot of experience setting up, and helping run, autocross events, and would be willing to help with this. It's not something I could pull off myself, but if a local club wants to tackle this and needs help, I would be willing to put in some time. (if needed)
