we always count "visible" mods. wheels are 1 mod, lowered is one mod, hood = 1, bumpers are 1, etc... cosworth plenum = mine... etc..

We did but I really think the biggest contributor was the media push from Nissan on the Project 370Z, they put us in spot lights we have never been in before. which is awesome, but really hard to predict what is going to happen.

so to share some data:
  • 2004 - 57
  • 2005 - 120
  • 2006 - 279
  • 2007 - 265
  • 2008 - 341
  • 2009 - 350
  • 2010 - 420
  • 2011 - 443
  • 2012 - 628 (preregistered)
In past years for example what ever you see as the final number we had about 1/2 of that in pre-reg so last year we went on site with ~230-240 pre-reg and ended with a final number of 443. so all but double, is we double this year

Also Fontana's infrastructure is worried, LOL they have a staff of about 25 people, you'll notice the same person that took your order at breakfast is probably the same person behind the bar at night, these folks are working 18-20 hour days to take care of us, just remember that when you get flustered because things happen at a slightly slower pace than you may be used to. remember we are all on vacation.

All in All we prepped for 800 people, more or less, LOL.

Someone should bring a grill, hamburgers, hot dogs, and an ice chest for drinks and they'd make a killing. Hmmmmmm....

Already ahead of you!

Bryan, we should do it like college, senior OG ZDAYZ'ers get a lil bro. You care for and watch over him like a puppy and make sure they stay in/ out of trouble depending on the OG...

Speaking of Infrastructure, The car wash bay in not going to be satisfactory for this event we'll have 6 hour lines, can we do something about adding a second wash zone. Also maybe hit up meguiers and ask for some promo packs of car wash...

Next, I would also suggest maybe having ID vinyl stickers for maybe like a group leader or someone that knows the dragon and surrounding roads well enough not to lead a newb off a cliff. maybe color code them rating the group leader in difficulty to follow. Like a rating on a ski slope, It may have been my OCD when I was a newb but I memorized every turn in the dragon on a topo map before leaving my house and I was still under a lot of pressure to keep up with the cars I went with.

green = novice group leader goes slow and easy, gets passed by harleys
blue = carries speed but won't hear tires squeal good for stock setup
red = will test your skills and would hope to have a modified suspension and some driving skill
black = driving ninja

EDIT: Not trying to add any work to anyone, just with this many cars I would love to see us not lose a single one this year.

I was hoping this would happen automatically, after all the Z/G/GTR is the best car group around. That is why I do this event. I spend over 1500 hours a year putty zdayz together and we give every dime left over to charity, we do it for the awesome Z peepz that come every year.

There is a second car wash, it is on the left side of the general store, next to the ice cream shop. That said even with two spots to wash, lets just assume there is going to be 550 cars there.... fontana does allow hoses to be hiiked up at the cabins, so if you have a cabin, it might be worth dragging one of those space saver hoses and a bucket with ya. Or be like kme and have a dirty car

good idea, but was hoping of the auto adoption scenario like above.

so would I, there has only been 2 years when we did not TOTAL a car, every year has had wrecks. and add this many cars and this many new people.... I'm actually trying to see how much it would cost us to have a rollback on location in the village...

We had a great idea in 09 by washing our cars at 3AM. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time at least

The funniest part about it was the next morning I walk by and I see some car wash soap on the ground. I walk by someone washing their car and I'm like "sweet, I use that soap too". They reply, "Oh yeah, it was there when I got here this morning"
