Driving is the best part. We are trying to schedule our groups activities already. Last year was our first year and we spent most the time around the lodge not knowing what to expect & not wanting to miss out. While hanging out was fun the short driving stents we did were a blast. We did the Cherohala Skyway at night. Fun test, we started at "Hoopers Bald" on the Skyway and coasted to the bottom.

Question: last year "Tech sessions" were canceled, what were those suposed to consist of? I know I have seen a Dyno in coverage from previous years but didnt see one this last year. What fell through last year that normally takes place?

We generally feel that if people want to hear tech from our vendors, it makes sense that the vendors present themselves available. In the early years of ZdayZ it was easier to have formal tech sessions (less people and more room to do it). Around 06-07 that trend started waning as more and more people started coming and it really turned into a social experience.

I could work on a tech session schedule again, but what I personally think had the best results was one year we did an open Q&A with Crawford Z Car, Forged, and Z1. I would kind of like to revisit that idea again, just because of the diversity of vendors we enjoy now.

What topic of tech session are you looking for?

The Dyno Question, we and Dynosty are looking into the logistics of bringing the Dyno back, it almost happened this year, hopefully it will happpen next year.

I won't know until we're a lot closer to the date of the event, but I'm planning for it already...

I just didnt know what the Tech Session was going to consist of. I saw it on the event schedule & thought that must have to do with the Dyno. A dyno would be a nice addition. I would like to see the vendors throw thier cars on the rollers and see which one comes out on top.

I've upgraded from tag-a-long status and I'm formally teaming up with the Tampa folks this year. It's amazing how I came to Zdayz alone and left with a family of new friends last year. People that didn't know me from Adam would literally beg me to come in and have some of their lunch, dinner, beer, etc. and join in the fun at their cabins. I now schedule the rest of my year around this.

Also, anything that you guys need in the way of help, just let me know.

Thanks again to you and your whole team!

-Hop

Everyone seems to mention just cabins, anything wrong with the lodge rooms? I opted for one of those for Fri and Sat nights and was just curious why everyone leans towards cabins.

There's nothing wrong with the lodge rooms besides being somewhat isolated. The cabins might be more economical split between 3-4 people.

This ^^^

The Lodge is nicer IMO, but when you have a group going, the cabins would be a better choice. If it's just you or you +1, the lodge is pretty nice.

Anywhere on site is going to be good. Last year was my groups (3 cars) first time. Not knowing what to expect we stayed in Robbinsville about 15-20min away at a motel. This was a bad idea. 2 main reasons:

1: The car: Each night driving back to Robbinsville we had to stop and remove the bug paint job on the front of my Z. We have pics somewhere and the bugs were insane!

2:Personal Fun: Im not much of a drinker but some in my group are & were not partaking of Alcohol because, Z/G's + Alcohol + Mountain Roads + night = Fail/crash

This year we got a cabin so we can be idiots through the night.
I cant wait to get back up there.
