My Z have: 20" rims, pop charger, MD 1/4" plenum spacer, 170 lb passenger and 3/4 of gas.

GT: is stock with only the driver and governed at 200 kmh.

First run: Had to stop because of car ahead
Second & third runs: from 60 kmh [37 mph] second gear both cars.

from 60 kmh the GT pulls one car but once I hit third both cars remain steady with a chance of me catching if it wasn't for the GT governer. I felt that if I kept it on first I would've made up that one car difference.

If you didn't have those retarded 20''s on there, you probably would have won. Way to kill performance of a sports car.

 

I like my 20s, but you'r right about them killing my performance. I don't really race that much anyway. But again, If I ran him from 40 kmh on first gear it would've been a tie, he can't gain on me after third as you see.

 

if you like them, that's all that matters. i should not have harped on them so bad, it's just a pet peeve of mine, when people take performance cars and put things like that on them. but as you said, you don't race much, so it's no matter.

Was GT auto or 5sp? I think you could've taken him or been very close if it wasn't for 20's and a passanger.

 

+1.. 18s or even 19s with no passenger would probably have gotten you the win.. good race none the less

 

I always wanted to know how the Z would do against the new GTs.. I assume we'd lose stock for stock, but with a popcharger and spacer, the Z could beat it

 

18" lightweight for the win.....although mine arent overly light at 21lbs but ya

 

What mods did the GT have?

 

GT he ran was stock

 

The GT was auto. My wheels are 28lb each. I made a mistake when I started on 2nd going 60 kmh, I shoud've been on 1st going 40 kmh. The GT is fast but it should've been a bit closer, and difinately a victory with lighter wheels and no passenger.

I will race him again in day light.

ive raced a stock gt and beat it pretty badly, and all i have is an 06 enthusiast with nismo cai & nismo headers & nismo exhaust ; )
i wasn't really trying to race him but my girlfriend was in the car and he kept trying to buck up so i didn't want to look like a chump in front of her so...I let the lady loooose & it felt wonderful =]

 

all you have is nismo cai, headers and exhaust... vs a stock gt.. sounds fair..
