Give me a break-did you miss the post where I ran 11's with LESS than 400whp? Dont judge Turbo Z"s by what you usually see times wise, obviously the APS car in question has WAY more potential than the driver right now, we'll see if that changes.

Just because my numbers werent to everyone's likings doesn't give any of you guys the right to question my driving abilities. I am sorry if I dont want to rape ths s*** out of my car. I have over the course of the past 3 years not only run 13.9 with the car stock but have spent a lot of time and effort as well as financial funds on this car. I enjoy it all around. I dont want to push it to the max. For me my dynochart says enough. It is a fast street car, which is what i wanted.

If you guys have some advice you wish to offer to help me get the most out of my car, please share because i would love to hear it. If not, stop questioning my credibility on how i can drive my car, or if my car is a 450whp car. I have owned it for 3 years, and driving it longer than most of the Z owners on here. I have pushed it, and now i enjoy it.

Thank You

Saad

OK, I now feel it's my duty as someone more informed about this particular TT-Z and as a friend of Saad's to fill you in on a few missing details. I was the camera-man at the drag strip and I've seen this car evolve from bone stock to the precision-tuned machine it is today -- therefore, pay attention:

This isn't a one-dimensional 350Z. It wasn't built to be the fastest 350Z ever built; nor the prettiest; heck, not even the loudest (I'm referring to the audio system here although the 3.5" exhaust is pretty loud on this car )

It was built to be one of the most complete 350Zs. You'll be hard-pressed to find a cleaner 350Z that had as much attention to detail as this car and was also putting down 450rwhp.
  • The car's got a complete, competition-worthy audio system.
  • Two video screens.
  • A custom, ported composite box which occupies the entire volume of the rear hatch and a 12" woofer as big, heavy and powerful as a W7.
  • Two amps.
  • Full Nissan 350Z touring package with even a custom-installed sunroof.
  • Wings West lip kit.
  • 19" HRE 546Rs in front and back.

I know he's got several other goodies on the car but it's late and I feel I've already painted you guys a good enough picture.

In case you haven't put 2 and 2 together just yet, this car is significantly heavier than, say, a stock Track 350Z. Take this for what it's worth, but given no audio/video system in Saad's car, 17" forged lightweight wheels at all corners with DRs on back, Track cloth manually-powered seats, and no sunroof, this car would be ~400-500 pounds lighter. That along with some more practice out of the hole (I believe this was his second time ever at a drag strip) would net him mid-12s and high one hundred teens, easily.

Lastly, g'luck to you Saad the next time you're out at the track. I know you'll be running your drag radials so with a better launch, I'm expecting you to effortlessly creep into the 12s.

In summary
:

The car's healthy and the driver can drive. You guys are all discounting several significant variables when making seemingly ignorant comments.

Heh, after watching all those vids i kinda don't blame him for likeing the street more. I mean the constant loud speaker advertisements at the track would drive me wacko.

nice looking Z

I have a Stillen Type 2 wing on the car, which unfortunately rattles when braking from a higher speed. Thank You, when we get some more vids of some runs we make I will tryin post them soon. There is a modded Evo among some of my friends who is running 11s at the track, but wishes to see how he fares with me on the highway. That should be fun, i'll get some cids when we do run and post em up.

I have raced at this track many of times and it is a horriable track for traction actaully the worst in the midwest. This track is actaully closing down at the end of the year becuase it just sucks. I have heard of many people running .2 or more higher times at this track compared to another one that is in Northern IL (with comparable conditions).

Saad let me know next time you are going to go to the track. I would love to go with you sometime. I only live 30 mins away. Have you ever participated in Import Wars?

Never been to import wars, although i am down to go if you have something planned. We can see what some of these guys are pushing.

Which track are you referring to in northern IL? Is it near Chicagoland area?

Import wars is pretty sick actaully! Check out http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/in...age=importwars

They have bracketed races for cash and a show too. There are some sick cars because AMS is so close they always bring a few cars (like the EVO that they have running 10 flat all day). Where the NHRA races are held at. I am drawing a blank now. Next race day July 29th! I will keep in touch and maybe we can meet up sometime.

Very nice setup! How's the clutch, and is the gearbox giving you any crap when pushing it hard? Also, do you get much wheelhop off the line with boost kicking in?

I'd opt for it, but decided to get rid of everything in favor of the new G coupe. Not only that, I don't know anyone here who can install a turbokit and tune it properly.

July 29th is Nightshift Chicago which is a Hot Imports Night event so i dont think i will be able to attend Import Wars at GLD. Maybe next time though..

I have a Spec Clutch and it has given me zero issues. I had all my work done over at GRD and they have very credible techs as well as one of the best tuners in the midwest if not the best. For those of you who dont know, his name is Tuan and he is the guys who makes some of these cars push out insane numbers. His stock internals Z is putting down 530whp tuned to 13-14psi. It is a safe kit with a conservative tune in my case, and has given me zero issues, with the exception of traction but hopefully i'll have that resolved soon with my new tires coming in.
