Default 3 vids of APS-TT 350Z @ local track, vs. Gixxer 750

Been meaning to put these up.

These two videos are of me vs. a late-model, Gixxer 750 on the e-way. He got the jump both times but you get a sense of how the car fairs against a stock bike at high speeds:

This one was taken at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. Ran against a friend's EVO:

Nice run on the track. However, it's a good thing you didn't get or caused an accident on the expressway.

I apologize in advance to all the guys who'll say i'm irresponsible for street racing. The runs were made late at night (~2am) although I was surprised to see so many vehicles on the road. Nevertheless, I don't condone street racing and if there's a next time, we'll be sure to make any runs at a later time when there's less traffic on the road.

Those are some pretty good videos. The video of you between the bike was good stuff. Yea, you were driving like a jerk on the highway, but nobody ever said street racing was safe.

Why didnt the camera man zoom in at the track though. What did you run?

And your car is gorgeous looking and seems like it has a really nice set-up. But big guy, work on those shifts. It sounds like your letting boost fall in between shifts. Bang those gears, dont be scared! I mean look how you drive on the highway.

Damn, I like the way your car looks! I'm guessing you have overlays on the rear? What rims and wing?

The Z beat the Evo out of the Hole Shot. Evo probably bogged..

I'm not going to preach the street racing thing but the dude on the bike was a squid. I'll be doggone if I ride without my leather. If he were to crash he woulda been tore up real good if a car didn't roll over him.

Camera-man couldn't zoom since he was recording with his digital camera -- doesn't allow zoom once you begin recording.

I'm not sure what I ran on that particular run but my best ET from that outing was a 13.02 on 19" HRE 546R street wheels & tires. I've gotten lightweight wheels and drag radials now so next time I go, I'll be looking to break into the 12s. My fastest trap that night was a 112.xx.

You only trapping 112 with TT setup? That's a bit weak IMO.

I have pushed it, but my driving has yet to get to a level where i feel completely comfortable shifting the Z. I am making 450whp with a complete APS TT setup, which i got put in about a month or so ago. About my runs, hopefully they will get better with some more practice and my drags on. I am in a particularly heavy Z. It is a touring package with all optoins. I got a ported box the size of my trunk in the back, a lip kit, the wheels are 19x11 rear and 19x9.5 fronts. When i did just the body work on my car last year, my times went from 13.9 to a 14.1. Its my daily driver, and i enjoy it more on the highway as opposed to the track. I like those late night cruises when i can really open 'er up.

450whp is a whole lot man! I'm just very surprised you're trapping so low. For example, my z28 has a bit over 300whp and it weighs probably as much as your car and I trap 110mph, so with 100-130 more whp, I would expect you to trap somewhere in higher teens.

What was the density altitute at the track where you raced?

Well with slow shifts like he mentioned, and traction issues, I am not all that surprised with that trap speed. Im sure he will get those times up with his new tires.

For comparison I have less than 400whp and trapped 116mph in 87 degree humid conditions. Id think even shifting slow you would be around 115mph but people never seem to surprise me. Ive now seen 2 APS TT's and 1 JWT TT with well over 400whp trap less than 112mph in the last month or so. Regardless, keep us updated on your new times, Im sure the new drag set up will allow you to lower ET and bring up that trap
