BTW that fuel you used is leaded. Your Z is stock? You must be looking for an excuse to go with testpipes and new o2 sensors.

What are you saying 'not' to??? C16 is leaded race fuel, and no offense, but you're not too bright if you really put that in your Z. I guess it's a good thing you only used 5 gallons. You still didn't do your o2 sensors or your cats any favors.

Default STI age?

what year STi was that? the 04 STi's lost a TON of power through the drivetrain. The 06's are much more efficient- meaning an 06 would probably rape you so bad on the launch that you'd never catch up, tho that 112 octane stuff probably does help (at the expensive of ur engine life)

why would a higher octane be a bad thing for a motor? It helps with detonation, and if the ecu was smart enough, perhaps it was able to advance timing a bit and create horsepower. This would be the whole reason for a higher octane in the first place. Now his cats and o2 sensors probably will get a little pissed off after a while, but hey, anything for a little hp.

Good runs, very interesting. The STI definitly wasnt a pro at launching, but his power should be able to creep on you in the least, Id think. Never thought racing a STI would look that easy.

How many people were in the STI? I would have expected it to pull harder then that, sounded like it had an exhaust and BOV? Anyways, nice race! Please be safe out there on the streets!

Higher octane itself is not bad for the motor and nobody said anything about octane or the motor. The problem is LEAD. Lead will plug the cats and foul the o2 sensors. If he had a built motor with very high compression and no emission system then it might make sense to run that fuel, but in his case its like pissing into the wind(except worse).
