Vino, NJ 2006 APS TT 350z (soon to be built)

I have an APS Extreme TT that was running at 5psi making about 413bh on stock internals. Ran perfectly until a three hour boosting session against very high end cars (porsches, nsx, vipers, m3’s, m5’s, and m6’s) snapped a rod that went through both sides of the motor.

All work was done and being done by MRC in spotswood, NJ...these guys are good!

Made a video for fun as I wait for the completion of my built motor. ENJOY!!!

some bad azz **** you were running with..

 

They were surprised at the power my little nissan was putting out...I mean I was leaving a lot of them behind (be it more power or better driving experience)

I had just finished teasing two z06's when an m6 blew passed me...I gave chase for a good 2 miles...the rod snapped only after i slowed down to a cruise then tried to reboost

Moral: I never should have put the extreme kit on stock internals...it works fine but too much risk with all the potential power. A boost control error that spiked it to 9psi blew the motor...fuel cut off was a second too late

 

yep that sucks....

nice vid, sorry to hear about the motor, but please don't drive like that in areas of traffic. think about other people's safety.

Nice videos, sorry to hear about your motor but now you won't always have to stress and think... "Hmmm, I really want to get on it but is my motor going to handle it?" You will be able to hammer it and let er rip with confidence. GL with the build.

 

The 350Z is completely safe up to 15 PSI. 100 percent safe.

Edit: Who tuned your car and how was it running that day? Curious if a cyl was lean out a bit and causing some predetonation. Is there any type of scanner for these cars where you can monitor how the car is running at any given point in time.

I feel your pain. Stating you restimated crank hp FTFL! What whp were you running on MRC's dyno?
