i love the 350z i have
sure it wont always smoke other cars in a straight line race
that doesnt mean its slow
its got great handling and is AMAZING to look at
and falt out fun to drive
i was thinking about getting a gt mustang
but one of my friends showed me 350zs in my price range and i couldnt be happier with my z
i think its hilarious when ppl hate on 350z's
they are just ignorant and/or jealous lol

All of these cars are decent in their own way. The Z works best for me because I love Nissan design and engine's. I have friends w/ LS1 FC's and Supras and modded Porsche 911's and yeah, some are faster in a straight line but can't corner worth a crap. The Porsche is good all around but with twice to three times the price tag, it just doesn't make sense. Same idea with these cars. It's just what you're into. I like the retro styling of the new mustangs but I would buy one over a Z because I like to autocross (plus I trust a Nissan to run a lot longer than a Ford, ). So, to each his own. I'm not gonna hate on the Mustang.

It was the 6-speed manual.

I'll give my unbiased opinion, the RX8 was a fun car to drive! Especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust system (my bro had the Greddy). And you rev that thing to 9k, and then you have a smile on your face. But you have to keep the revs up there, bc if you don't, the experience will quickly become boring.

haha hey the thread wasnt about the damn rx-8. .

but. . .truthfully if it had the rx7 engine and not that slow rensis it would of been tons of more fun. .but since it didn't my votes for the Z.. but ya never c a real street race with an rx-8 and a 350 Z..due to the fact the rx owner's know not to come near a z as we would never go up against a TT SuPra!!. . .i loved the look YES was nice. .but i think it was highly over rated. . and as a driver of both due to my X and now my Z. .doesn't compare power wise. .

But once agian. .SOMEONE MAKE A CLEAN AND GOOD VID OF THE Z WINNING SOME STREET RACES WITH OUT FI Please!!!!!!

The thing about the RX8 and S2K is that they both have very low torque compared to their horsepower. Torque is more important than horsepower to me, which is why I could never get into those 2 cars. It just doesn't make sense to me why a nice car like the S2K would have such low torque.

Agreed off the line Tq's what you need. .people dont realize that HP takes over in the higher gears range after the cars moving. .but that PULL that you feel is the TQ. . .

Short gearing can make up for low torque figures to an extent. Torque is mostly a factor in launching from a dead stop, and for driveability. More torque down low, means you don't have to dump/slip the clutch from as high of an rpm to get a decent launch. I can't speak for the RX8, but if you are in the right gear of the S2000, it never feels slow. Trying to get a decent launch out of it without abusing the clutch might be another story. The only time the lack of torque is apparent is when you are cruising in a higher gear, and accelerate without downshifting. If the S2000 came in a coupe and not a roadster, meaning a real non-removable roof, it probably would have leaned my towards the S2000. Lack of the convertible hardware would maybe shed about 100-150lbs.

The basic thing about these all-inclusive packages of Bull**it! that are youtube videos is that they're merely poorly shot, poorly encoded works coming from nobody else but disgustingly misinformed teens and Honda fanboys with a budget that apparently only covers their engine and not their S-U-S-P-E-N-S-I-O-N. (Please excuse the lack of punctuation. O_o)

The one thing that really pisses me off to no end is a street racer. By that, I mean some elitist **** that thinks beating random victims without having fair knowledge of the opposition, and vice versa, and beating them in a STRAIGHT LINE exclusively is something worth mentioning to a weekend road racer.....These people are the only ones posting this dirt online.

Hence the reason why anything coming from Youtube isn't worth my or any Z owner's time.

My goal is to prove the N/A Z's are slow myth wrong. Ill be making some vids once it gets warm out so hopefully I can represent. My old Z only had TP's, plenum spacer, and a tilton and was beating 107 trapping camaro's, mustangs, neons, on the highway. Only wish this forum had a Street Racing section, its always a fun and contraversial element to a forum.
