Default 350z test drive video

Hi,
I went to my local Nissan dealer (in France) and tried out the 350z. I made a little video (poor quality because I used a digital camera and wasn't realy planning on making a film that day). Just thought you guys might be interested in it.

http://hewat.free.fr/350z/350z.avi
(Video format : XviD - 02:44 320x240@15fps 11.1MB)

I personnaly own a nissan 200sx turbo RS13 and the miata you can see in the vid is my work colleges new toy.

Nice video. I didn't know France used LHD cars....I feel stupid now lol.

What's the reason behind the left Turn indicator colored Red, but the other clear?

LHD ?

The red in the left turn indicator is the rear anti fog light (all cars must have them in France). You guys must have two rear backing up lights.

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah we have 2 rear backup lights.

I wish we had Euro-sized License plates. Those look so much better than the square ones here.

Very good. – Nice little video. How does it stack up against the turbo 200? Thinking of trading?

To see it, you need an XviD codec like ffdshow :
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=59355

To hear it, well, it's plane old mp3 CBR 56kbps 22500Hz stereo. so it should work anywhere. (by the way, half the fun of this video is in the sound...)

Compared to my 200sx, it's more linear. You don't get that kick from the turbo when you go over 4000rpm. This means you actualy go faster without noticing with the 350z ! (it being more powerful helps aswell...). It also has an awsome exshauste sound with that twin output. No turbo whistling thought.

I'd trade in my 200sx against the 350z any day if I could afford it. Well actualy I can, but I don't want to have that much credit this early in my life...

In France, we don't have the choice in options our 350z comes with. We get the special racing rims, brembo brakes, bose sound system, leather trim, ..., all standard at 36800 euro (45550 US$). You lucky guys get this model for only 35000 US$ (28,300 euro). If it were only 30000 euro, i'd reconsider trading in my 200sx for sure.

Off topic question: In Holland we also have the anti fog light in the lower left tailligtht. I really like the rear to be symetrical and because of that i would like to replace it with a US taillight with the backing up light in it. So that left and right are both "clear".

Could any of you find out wath the price of that unit is??

Or perhaps would one of you guys like to trade yours for mine (you never know, right).

Greetz,
Peter

These guys ship OEM parts worldwide.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/

If you contact them directly you could probably arrange something fairly painlessly for a single price. If not, PM me and I can trans ship it.

BTW - What is the logic behind the left side red light? How is that anti-fog? Does it project a stronger light backward or what?

That's cool, at least my video will have the merit to link two Z owners from a different continent to enable them to tune their cars to their liking

Cool Video. You are much harder on test driving cars than I am. LOL
I would never do any gravel slinging like that to a car that I was thinking about getting. I cringe every time I here my tires pick up a rock and sling it against my paint.

Hahah, nice video but man, you guys thrashed that car on a test drive! Usually here in the states the salesman goes with you on the drive and so chances of things like that are minimal. With exceptions of course, sometimes you get to go by yourself.

Yeh, that's what I meant.

I know on my way out of work there is some loose gravel. I always take it really slow through that area (5mph), but even at that speed I always hear the gravel hitting my car - its unerving. I think the sound I'm hearing is the rocks hitting the plastic above the wheel wells. That conclusion has helped me cope with this repeating tragedy so I really hope I'm right.
