that older guy is a ****ing tool I dont know what his beef is with the new Z ?
But that was totally unfair, comparing a 300ZX with turbo, which cost over $40k, like 10 years ago, to a new 2003 350Z non-turbo ?
Lets even it up, with a 350Z-Track + GreddyTT

 

The 350z is faster then the 300zxTT isnt it? i saw the 1/4 times and 350z had 14.0 and 300ZX TT had 14.3

 

car-stat states that stock 300zx run 13.8 stock and 350s as 14.1

 

The main attraction of the 300ZX is its upgradeability. Stock for stock the 350Z has better performance (no lag) and handling (lighter better weigh distibution), but the 300ZX had a lot of tech gadgets you don't have on the 350Z even 14 years later like 4 wheel steering, adjustable suspension and it is built like rock.

Then again you don't see too many stock 300ZX TT out there. The two cars were built for different markets, the 300ZX TT today would compete not just in performance with the more expensive sports cars but also in luxury where as the 350Z competes but with fewer frills and cost.

 

well...remember now... they've clocked the stock 350z now at 13.7 with motor trend.<--corrrect me if i'm wrong.

Yes, you can turbocharge a 350Z.

 

It only makes sense to compare the 350Z with a N/A 300ZX.... then it makes sense the 350Z would be the fastest Z built.

Until I get TT on the 350Z, the 300ZX is still more fun to drive.... if only it had a short, tight shifting tranny as the 350Z.

okay, the TT had 300HP 280 some lb of torque.
The new Z has 287 hp and 270 some lb of torque.

Man, you just can't beat the twin turbo, once they get to the top end, it's all RAW power man, the N/A just can't compete with the turbos.

remember that race where they were using the Skyline as the camera car following the Z, same HP but the Skyline just passes the Z like nothing.

Im from the burbs of Detroit. I had to get rid of of 94 sl600. The engine was starting to leak oil n chit.....so it was time for a replacement...man it was tuff to find a replacement for all that raw silky smooth power....So I decided to look for a fun car of the kind i remember in the early sixties....like a turbo corvair or one of them small foreign sports cars....No mustang for me even tho in the 60s thats all i drove...now .they are all over the place like a plague..... Soooooo then I saw the s2000 and it kept drawing me back...but something about it just kept me from signing on the dotted line...looked like a fun car but also looked like a mouse from the front....i know....but its just me....I never even heard of the 350z.....The RX8 looked just too busy. Like the designer didnt know what direction he was goin. Then I saw the 350......took me 30 seconds to find a salesman....I knew that was the car.......they had 6.....but no black......no other color was good for me.....got a black one in 3 days from a nother dealer.......Like my sl600 when i first gotit.......the Z turns heads....not only because its a work of art...( I own an art gallery) ...but because they really just dont exist around here on the roads....i see 1 maybe every 3 weeks......I see more G.s than that.......then i found this site.....then i went nuts.....borla duals.....grounding kit.......thats it.....then.....I found on ebay.....what really set my Z off......chromed stock G35 SC wheels with pilots....2300.....man ..i just love drivin me Z...i live between wash and wax jobs......never driive it dirty........the convertable ? naw.....ugly......ONE regret....i shuda got an AUTO.......sigh...but other than that.....man i turn up the BOSE and im in heaven.......
