He made it out of that.....barely.

That was the first NASCAR truck race at Daytona. Geoffrey Bodine was the one who got the worst of that. It took him a while to recover and it all but ended his career as a driver.

 

those flames could have burned someone really bad, but looks like no one was in that spot when it happened.

 

If I remember correctly, there were a few people injured in teh stands. I think it was from debris though and the injuries weren't life threatening.
