If you think that we've even come close to seeing the potential of the HR you're mistaken. My stock time would be #2 on that list, and if I had gears, test pipes, exhaust, and a tune I'd probably be at a 12.5 or better, with DR's even lower....I don't think you realize how big of a difference there is.

lol @ 12.5, you sir are dreaming. the HR is no doubt a great motor but its not hitting mid 12's without going F/I, nitrous or a stroker.

Veetec has traped at 107 on a stock hr and a weak clutch. With basic bolt-ons, a strong clutch, and some dr's mid 12's should be easily.

I ran a 13.23 @ 105.67....I think that with 20-30 degree cooler temps (it was 68/69 that day) I'll be right on the door of 12's. Gears are usually good for .2-.25, DR's for another tenth or so, exhaust, test pipes, tune, another tenth. That puts me at a 12.5. Thats me, my driving, my car. I'm not trying to internet race, but these cars are fast, and mines gotten quicker with miles.

How many miles you got?

I am going to atco very soon. I have a 2007 base - x02 exhaust will be on within the weeks end. Stock tires and 7500 miles.

I am somewhat experienced... had a 2004 350z (exhaust intake headers pullies) and ran a 13.26 @ 104. I dont have the slip ne more this was back in 04 - mrc did my mods.

other cars ive ran @ are 1998 corvette with a procharger @ 6 psi. 10.87 @ 127.

2005 wrx sti with ported stock turbo, intake, pulley, exhaust, bigger FMIC... I kept getting 12.5-12.8s the clutch was bad at the end and when it got cooler couldnt do anymore runs before trading it in.

I will say this.. my 2007 feels faster then my 04 with exhaust intake headers and pullies.

Cant wait to add the x02, heard it does give some gains, and anxiously waiting the k&n drop in filters for the HR motor.

9,000 now, started tracking much earlier, can't even remember how many I had.

Good luck, Atco produces VERY good times.

I think it is - I realize you're mocking me, but no-one believed Veetec when he ran the 13.3, I ran a 13.2 and KNOW there is more in the car stock.

If a DE can gain .5-.8 with bolt ons, the HR should as well....think about it relatively.

Actually am NOT mocking you, I wanna see these kinda times from a Z, am just a little skeptical about 12.5 or lower...the HR is pretty efficient as is, I dont think it will benefit that much from bolt ons like the DE. The DE had a horrible plenum design, crappy headers and a so-so exhaust. The HR has a solid setup, it CAN get better no doubt, but I dont think it will be that much. But I would love to be proven wrong...after all, I love Z's...so If it can be done, am ALL for it

I havethe gears, test pipes, exhaust, intake butmy car is running very lean now. Havent had a chance to hook up well at the track but with crappy 60's I am consistentlyrunning 13.1-13.2@107-108mph. And I am a crap driver. With proper size DR's or ET streets mid tohigh 12's are easy with my crap driving and maybe mid12's with a better driver.

My pb trap was 108.63mph with a slipping clutch. Once I put in a solid clutch set up mid 12's should be easy

i think high 12's are possible but getting down into the mid 12's is totally different ball game.

I understand. The one thing I hadn't commented on (that is always in the back of my mind) is how close the HR is to a bolt on DE. Getting the same results is harder just because you're getting so much quicker in the 1/4, but the mods are mostly taking off in the 1/8th (DR's and gears at least) so I still think they'd have good benefit on the HR.

I mean, maybe a 12.7 is more reasonable, but we have DE's knocking on (breaking down) the door of 12's - running almost a full second faster than they did stock.

My point is that there isn't a huge difference between the DE and HR perf-wise. The HR is a more refined engine out of the box no doubt. But a modded DE has no problem at all performing at the level of a modded HR. Look at the time slips I posted.

So - I've done the below mods to stay in the game with all the new sports cars coming out... LoL! :-)

06 Airbox w/ Amsoil Dropin
Varis duct / Grill mod
MD ISO 5/16 Spacer
MD Copper TB Heater with bypass valve
MD MREV2 Lower Collector
DC Sport Headers w/ JetHot Coating
Kinetix Resonated Test Pipes w/ dual wideband 02 bungs
HKS Hi Power True Dual Exhaust w/ X-Pipe fabrication
TXS UTEC
TXS Tuner (Reg)
Aem AFR Gauge
Dyno Tune + Road Tune
Hotchkis Springs
Hotchkis Sways
Brembo/ Stoptech Slotted Rotors
Stoptech Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Axxis Racing Pads
Motul Brake Fluid
8 Point (4 AWG) Engine Grounding Kit
Battery to Chassis (1 AWG), Battery to Alternator (1 AWG)
DIY Passenger Side Crank Case Oil Catch Can
Amsoil Driver's Side Crank Case Breather Filter
Amsoil Tranny fluid
Amsoil Diff fluid

Where is your timeslip, mine is a 13.239, damn good for stock or bolt on, and thats stock in NOT perfect conditions. I don't have my car for another few days, 2 weeks I'll be at the track, if I run a better time I'll post it, probably will. If I run a 13.0 that puts me about even with Aceman, who has every mod but cams (IIRC at least) and is a good driver with similar conditions (his might be slightly worse).

If I'm able to STOCK run the same times as a full bolt on DE, then I think its conclusive the HR isn't just smoother, but a LOT faster. Mods do show good gains on the HR, if you haven't been paying attention, and the car has more on launch that I can't get because I'm stock (aka no new clutch anything).

Won't be modded for a while, still paying the car off and I don't like risking something (losing warranty basically) and putting money into mods for something....that I don't own outright.

When it does get modded - gears and good tires will throw me into 12's no doubt....if you disagree thats fine, but I'll back it with slips and then you can STFU.

I got a news flash for ya... The HR is already maxed out from the factory. That's why there isn't much stuff for it in the aftermarket.
