I've reached the end of the bolton path, now cams and head work are gonna cost me about $3800 and that's with the core charge taken out, then you got installation $$$.... <sigh>....
Then I gotta start building the lower engine for more compression/ rpms... More $$$... Another <sigh>...

I know you can't take what a mod adds by itself and add it, thats why I'm not saying .4 for slicks and .25 for gears. But .2 for gears, .2 for ET streets would be .4, thats reasonable if the clutch holds, with a clutch and flywheel it would hold - AND have more power out of the hole because of the flywheel. The 330' is where I'm gaining time on everyone, its where bolt on cars gain the most (typically), and its the part my mods will try to improve.
I know the flaws in logic you're seeing in what I'm saying. But if the DE can drop more than .5, I should be able to drop ,5.
I just need to get my 12.9xx or 13.0xx first and prove the car has that in it

Cute how everyone is just touting what they own. With that said, my HR will smash your DE. :rofl
In all seriousness, I've driven a bolt on 04, a stock 06, and my stock 07, and the older DE's feel like my lightly bolt on E36 M3's, and my HR feels like a E46 M3 more than a E36 is terms of speed and pull....they are much healthier motors than the pre 07 350Z's....and yes, they will have gains to be made. Shoot, when the E46 M3 came out with 333hp and only 3.2 liters, guys were saying it was maxed out. Well, now with near 400 to the wheels N/A kits and 1000 to the wheels turbo kits, I think it's ok to say the fan bois were WRONG. As are the DE fan bois....don't be jealous, just trade in your DE's.

nobody "arguing" anything...we are all just having a discussion about the Z. It just that lately HR owners get all bent out of shape if everyone doesn't believe they can walk on water

I'd be the first to say that would be mighty impressive, but with *most* HR's trapping from 103-105ish, that would be fine driving to get to a 12.9. I believe it can be done though. I can see it now, 12.978 at 104.68 with a 1.8 60. Hehe.

Peak, even with lower temps, Id be willing to bet your only going do drop a tenth, you'll begin to loose traction. There are a number of us who have ran their 07s now, and getting similar times, so stock I think thats all you can expect. It is much easier to make a 14 sec car run 13's than a 13.X second car run 12's, its exponential relative to HP. Its gonna take more HP and traction to get us to the mid 12's than bolt ons, but I am pleased with what some are running stock.
I do think we'll hit high 12s rather repeatedly though with serious traction (streets suck as I found out, so I now have some 15" welds on 26" Hooiser slicks) and all the usual bolt-ons and tuning once available. Though this is off subject, being an ex celica gts owner with Apexi Power FC, respectable gains throughout the powerband were had, and that car from the factory was 100 HP/L, so I am looking forward to tuning the 07. Yes, the 07 Z does not have variable lift, but it does have variable timing, and though the celi's have a high lift cam at high rpm, the majority of the gains were in the valve timing and ignition advance. I don't think the experience of fine tuning NA Zs here in North America is anywhere near that of Japan, nor what the RX7 and even celica community is stateside, so I am optimistic about the tuning potential. Way off topic, sorry all...

All that aside, I still have a lot of trap to gain, thats why I'm expecting a better run, we'll see, I'm done speculating.
The GTS motor is badass btw - pretty much anything that Yamaha puts out though....will be, example, the V8 Volvo buys from them...

EXACTLY what I was gonna say... I had an e36 M3 (97) for 6 years. Then I bought an 06 z 6mt and it felt the same as the M3.
Then I traded the 06 for an 07 and it definitely feels MUCH quicker and more like an e46 M3 (Which I have also driven).
LOL at people saying the e46M3 was maxed out... I remember that from early 2001. people say that about every new car that comes out. I used to be one of them. I learned that lesson a while ago and stopped saying that. People used to say that about the s2000 as well when it first came out... and the Intergra Type-R, etc, etc...
People forget that cars are NOT maxed out from the factory. They are full of compromises... Making fuel economy mark (yes, even in performance cars), making quieter exhausts at the expense of power. Making cars that perform well at ALL elevations and on all kinds of CRAPPY gas...
