The car was dropped off yesterday and I should be picking it up on Saturday. As soon as I have some more info I'll be posting it, so hang tight.

I bet the gains will come on the top end where the factory tune pre-maturely closes the throttle bodies before redline. Don't expect more than 5 to 12 hp - is my guess.
Lots of euro cars are detuned when they are brought to the US. You can see as high as 40 crank hp bump on some early 90's bmws.

Thats the old E34 M5 myth again isn't it.

The S36 will never be a 300 hp motor with just a tune and exhaust/intake change. The S38 has every real upgrade including displacement and CR and it still only nets 286, so it would be ridiculous to assume that a simple retune would do more than a retune with a lot of accessory mods. I can't think of any other car that tuning was touted to be more effective on.

And the biggest argument for the S36 gains was raising the redline - which I'll note is VERY risky.

Default Initial Technosquare Dyno Numbers.

Hey Guys. It took an extra day to finish things off since it was too wet on Friday for Tadashi to road test the throttle response. Before everyone starts calling technosquare looking for a flash there is still more testing to do. Tadashi is taking my car again in January and will probably keep it for 2 weeks and run a lot more programs and get everything finalized. So don't start calling asking for the flash because they aren't ready yet. With that said.....

Tadashi got just about all of the programing figured out and had made some huge improvements to the throttle response. Its more or less instantaneous now, to the point where it could be dangerous in wet conditions ( at least with my open diff). He's not sure if he's going to keep it as responsive as it is yet, but whatever Tadashi chooses will be a huge improvement over what we have now.

The throttle now stays open through the full power band and the redline is set at 8k, so there's no fuel cutoff at 7.5k. Peak power comes at about 6950.

He also mentioned the car was running rich and made adjustments to the A/F ratio.

All the following numbers are based on the HR with Nismo exhaust and Fujita intakes. The cats are the OEM.

The baseline max torque was 206 @ 2200 and the hp was 233 @ 7000.
After the flash max torque was at 217 @2200 and hp was 248 @ 6950.

The dynojet adjustment shows max torque at 250.5 and max hp @285.9

I believe they are going to start working on a G35 next, but when Tadashi returns from Japan in January he's going to run more tests on the Z with stock air boxes in and then also finish it all off with HFCs installed.

I'll scan the dyno sheets tonight and post them up.

He didn't say it was safe or not, but the power starts to drop off a lot after 7500, so its still going to be ideal to shift at that point, but if you happen to go beyond 7500 the fuel isn't going to get cutoff.

that's cool. I think I read in a post from Sharif or someone credible that the throttle bodies actually start to close slightly at 7k RPM so that there is a soft redline cut off. This is cool cause now the throttle bodies stay completely open!

I might be reading something wrong here and by no means do i want to bash anyone else's accomplishments but arent stock '07's suppose to put out about 260+ rwhp. The throttle news and the gains sound very very interesting and the fact that the car is running rich is also good news because currently im having trouble acheiving anything above 15.8 mpg in the city

on a dynojet yea anywhere from 260 - 270 but thats not important. The baseline vs the final dyno is what matters and that showed some gains

Nice gains profink... And thanks for contributing to our community!!
Perhaps there will be additional gains from having HFCs or TPs.

January seems so far away!!!!

Oh and BTW....
