stop listening to your friends. they are wrong. if your friends told you that godzilla was about to attack your house, would you believe that too?

Do your friends know the difference between a DE and HR motor

No problem. As far as I know, you can get intakes, test pipes, and exhaust for bolt-on.

Not really sure if there is a spacer in development or not.

With the new dual throttle bodied design, there would be no advantage to a spacer. That air distribution issue in the DE was addressed with the new HR plastic composite plenum design.

+1.

I was about to mention this but saw your post. I think it's going to be hard to beat Nissan's current design.

I was thinkin about making one and seeing if there was any advantage, are you guys positive it wouldn't help at all? I do see your point on how the dual intake system would help with the distribution, but i figured it wouldn't hurt to try making one, all it would cost me is time and materials, needed something to do this winter anyways while it's all snowy outside. If you are positive it wouldnt help then i guess i'll have to figure something else out. planning on making a aluminum pulley set for my car as of now too, i may end up doing all pulleys (i counted 7 total), see how much weight it actually saves, and how much of a difference it would make.

I wish it was that simple.

The intake plenum on the HR is a one piece molded design. It doesn't come apart, like the DE plenums. You'd have to heat it up and hope the glue loosens up a bit and try to fabricate something to fit in the middle (easier said than done) or cut it in half and try to mold something in the middle from there. Unfortunately, it'd probably be easier to design a whole new plenum from scratch.

There is no need for one with the HR. Old news.

That is a false asumption. You have no idea if there will be no gains. No one has tried yet.

i don't agree there ... hommie

looking @ the lack of dynos that prove that breathing mods ( intake and junk ) do anything for the HR, i will say that the stock plenum is maxed out....

TP's and Catbacks are the only mods that help, due to obvious increase in emission and noise levels.

So i will sit tight and get a TT kit... ( or a gr-r )

Intakes did nill on the DE engine as well but show huge improvements on the spacers, plenum mods. So can't say the stock plenum is maxed out.

lol.

^^ yeah it may not be maxed out, but it sure won't be cheap to find out, and prob not cost effective to perform any upgrades...damn Nissan and their perfect plenum design!! Why couldn't you have just done it half-azzed like before?
