All the hype reminds me of when the Greddy kit came out for the DE. Everyone was desperate to get it even with crappy engine management. Hopefully the experiences from the DE kit will be not be ignored on the HR.

And it was a great kit for those times, back than those were good numbers. Also not many cars where under 30k with nearly 300bhp.

I saw this monster about 3 weeks ago at the Greddy Facility in Irvine(friend works there). At the time, the tuning was not complete and it was running without cats. They did start it up for me though, and it sounded mean!!!

Can you find out from him what kind of numbers they are making and with what boost.

I'm expecting more boost and potentially 450 whp on a stock block, but that (edit - probably) won't happen without cams and a few other changes.

Well, i guess we gotta wait for an HR owner with money to burn. Then maybe we'll find out exactly how much the stock block could handle. Someone has to test the waters for the rest of us...

He told me that they were going to do the tuning after SEMA, then see what they could do on a built motor.

DD or DJ #'s? I would be happy with 400whp on a DD (roughly 440-450whp on a DJ) with the stock block... that's a 65% increase in power (DD #'s for the HR are around 240-245whp), would be impressive if it held up.

A 100% increase in power would mean the power is doubled. A 165% increase would mean it would have 630+ whp, so I think what you meant was a 65% increase. That's still great though, I wish I had the money to do it.

Mustang numbers. I've seen 3 - 330's go from 215whp to 380 whp with 9 psi headers and cams (on a twin screw). 10 psi on a turbo with the extra displacement should net at least 425/430 whp on the dynojet, the extra redline alone should yield even more power.

I remember Shariff saying that it would seem likely that the HR engine would be able to run 450-480whp on the stock block, DJ numbers. But wouldn't know for sure tell the kits came out and they tried it and what not. This was just his prediction after seeing how much stronger the HR enigne is.
