Interesting, they told me they were aware of the problem. I even filled out a special questionnaire regarding the issue when it was first repaired, so yeah, Nissan is very aware.

I'm not the only one here who has filled it out.

I also heard there is a updated slave cylinder from the G35 guys.... It requires the whole transmission to be removed from the car, and taken apart. It takes like 7-8 hours. Sadly, the tech only gets paid for something like 2-3 hours.

Do you have a link,my transmission will be out to replace the clutch next week, maybe I can convince the dealer to replace the slave cylinder while they do my clutch.Hopefully my warranty will cover the new slave cylinder.

Frankly I'm very surprised there is no TSB out for this yet.

If a dealer refused warranty service to me for allegedly having "raced" the car, I would sit at the service manager's desk, pull out my cell phone, and call my lawyer, and tell them over the phone that I would like to file suit against the dealer.

The service manager left the building when I showed up,would not return my calls and hung up on me when I got through to him after telling me he was the eyes and ears for Nissan. The car is at a different dealer my lawyer will be in touch with Nissan and if there is any justice in this world Nissan will have to pay the bill in arbitration.

Yeah, according to my dealer, they have an updated slave cylinder, which came out in October, due to the issues.

I will continue to post updates, but imagine the car will be there for most of the week, waiting for the parts.

Yes that's correct. Mine is now in for the second time with this same problem and is having the new part installed tomorrow. Nissan told me there are hundreds of these being shipped to deal with the failures that are occuring.

I wonder if its worth pushing my tech over this. If Nissan has a revised part, I'd like to get ahold of it and have it put in, even if the problem is less dramatic in my car than some others.

Whew.... So since mine is a November production, hopefully this updated part made it in... if so, maybe I can take some pictures/part numbers so others can determine if theirs is "updated" or not... all depends how deep in there this cylinder is.

I couldn't just take my '07 in there and have them perform a preemptive slave cylinder replacement? Probably need a TSB for that huh?

In my experience, having this part fail twice, is the following happens. The "bite" point of the clutch gets lower and lower with eventually the clutch pedal not returning to the top. I would then pull the clutch pedal up with my foot to reset it if you will or pump the clutch up and down while in neutral to build pressure to get the clutch to stay up. Eventually the clutch pedal will stay on the floor with no play in it thus not enabling you to change gears.

I know this is a repost (because I posted it myself), you guys with clutch problems need to enter a complaint with the NHTSA's Office of Safety Investigation:

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

If we ever expect to get a national recall on this issue, the NHTSA needs to pressure Nissan to do it. Currently there is only one mention of this issue in their database, and I lost count of how many have complained about it on this forum alone. Please enter a complaint, lets inform the authorities that there is a safety issue here. I'd hate to have one of the owners get hurt or killed because they got stuck on a highway at night with a car they cannot drive.

just submited my claim, i bet if we all send a complain, they can issue a recall before somebody does get hurt, its ridculous that we have to replicate the problem

Why would you want it replaced pre-emptively if you have not had any problems? My '07 has had zero clutch or clutch-related problems. I was concerned about it yesterday when I took my car to the track, but even after constant high rpm upshifting and downshifting, it never skipped a beat.

Guess I got lucky on my car *knocks on wood* Best of luck to those having problems with their slave cylinders.

I understand what you are saying... I haven't had this issue either and the last thing I want to do is go to a dealer for service on my car, but the fact of the matter is this is a safety issue. If the problem was the back wiper getting stuck mid way through a cycle, I probably wouldn't be too concerned. Some people have had this issue at 1,500 miles, others haven't seen symptoms until 10,000 miles... You never know if the next time you shift it'll be your turn!!! I'd rather just have peace of mind...
