Mines dual carbon intake ducts...
#63
Has anyone seen any proven gains from these ducts or these ducts combined with different intakes? Most of my research has shown that the factory intakes aren't worth replacing due to no discernable gains.
I have a naked Carbon Creations front bumper that I got for free because they shipped it with no packaging & it has a small crack in it. I wouldn't mind cutting holes in it if it will benefit me. I was thinking of getting the Mine's ducts & simply dropping K&N's in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

guys,
the air intakes don't come as a kit, you buy them as the passenger side or the driver side,
I picked up two on ebay and they don't look too bad but they are not of a brand name
and I don't know if they are good quality carbon fiber parts. I haven't installed them yet because they didn't come with a template and I'm in no hurry to cut the holes. as far as gains go, I haven't noticed any. Some people claim that you do and some that you don't, but I can tell you one thing - when you get rid of the stock air intake and filter boxes and you replace them with a twin cold air intake ( 07 / 08 Nismo brand ) or any other brand
it will make your Z sound a lot better. It sucks having to cut the bumper but there's no way around it. for the price of those mines intakes you can buy a brand new bumper with
the air inlet already molded in.

You can find titek for around 350 they look like these and the quality is fantastic they fit perfect and they help big time to lower intake temps on greddy twin turbo kit because the auctions are right where the air is directed and need all the help you can get with lowering temps with these cars...I love mine but I don't know how much water they would suck up in the rain because my car has never seen rain or dirty roads or water at that...and another thing if u hand wash your car with these just stick a microfiber towel in them to block water to be on safe side but I just use finish kare detailer or GlossIt detailer on mine great stuff by the ways...much better than the cheap crap you can buy in autozone...

Another thing I reccomend razor blade when cutting we used a dremel in the center of te hole before cutting the outside to see if it would just melt the urethane and it did melt it if you didn't move fast enough and razor blades make a nicer cut too...
