Default New numbers with the test pipes

Today i told my brother to go and get the car dynoed after the test pipe install. now the car has the 3.9 final drive, nismo lsd, fujita intake, 70 shot wet kit, and the test pipes with that antifouler CEL fix and now the car made a pretty good difference just for adding test pipes. before it made 316whp and 293wtq but now it made 325whp and 312wtq. but the only weird part was that the car runs a lot more lean. the a/f now off the bottle is 12.9 and on the bottle it is 11.3. but before it was around the mid 10's off the bottle and on the bottle was below 10. This seems really weird to me because i thought it would make it run richer but i dunno. ill try to scan the charts onto here but i dunno how

that can effect the a/f ratio? when i did it without the test pipes it was about 75 degrees and it was sunny. today it is about the same temp but it is raining and humid. could that cause it?

Test pipes will cause it to run lean, as would headers and exhausts.

Are you using a tail pipe probe from the dyno or do you have something like an innovate or aem uego wideband installed in an O2 bung?

Readings after a cat will change if you remove your cat, that's pretty normal.

I was using a tail pipe prob thing but the weird part is that the car off the bottle made less hp but the same tq. before the test pipes the car made 264 whp and 227 wtq and now it dropped to 257whp and 227wtq i think were the numbers. that kinda confused me but the guy told me that if i had a catback and it should help. maybe the weather also changed those numbers also but i dunno

Just curious, I'm assuming you didn't run a tuned setup on the Nitrous. How much do you have invested in that, how does the car seem to run on it?

Curious, its really tempting as a track mod.

it was 640 for the wet kit, 330 to install, 500 to install the final drive and lsd and the test pipes where 100 bucks to install. and i got an extra bottle for 30 bucks from a friend. the lsd and final drive were somewhere around 1500 combined and the test pipes were like 300 i think. i cant remember exactly but thats like the ball park prices

So <1k for the whole nitrous setup installed, good to hear. I'm trying to budget 2k so I can get a Utec, a few hundred to tune it, we'll see when someone has a harness out.

+1...any change in exhaust will effect your a/f ratio. now your a/f looks more in line nareg...wtg.

depends what size test pipes your bought....if you bought a bigger size (2.5" / 2.75"), you'll loose some back pressure resulting in a small loss....or your motor could have been heat soaked or all of the above. the advantage of bigger test pipes are seen when spraying...
