I don't think you understood my logic....

(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)

A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.

The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined to any one ethnic group or color, however different ethnic groups are known for certain styles.

Honda Civics with big spoilers and 4" exhaust tips are considered to be ricers.

If anyone thinks that's the same as getting an aftermarket intake you clearly have no idea how aftermarket intakes work. Or any kind of flow system for that matter.

Yes and theres so many proven dyno numbers that aftermarket intakes provide us an increase amount of power. Like I said, Im pretty sure what OP did hurt the cars performance, but not by much. Just like how my AEM intakes gave me a bump in performace or the guy who dyno'd his car with stock intakes and fujita on the same day (he got a great gain of -3hp, -3tq.)

To the haters I don't care what you say about me, but don't call me a ricer for contributing to the knowledge base called www.MY350Z.com, I experimented so others may BENEFIT, or so that others don't make the mistakes I made. But its not a mistake at all in my opinion heat soak=none, these dual airboxes go for $50 in the marketplace, and if I'm not mistaken if you buy in intake you are out $400+ for a loss in power...thats a difference of $350 and I still have everything you have besides overly engineered tubes. YOU GUYS HATE ON EVERYBODY'S STUFF WHEN YOU DONT HAVE A FREAKIN CLUE AND IT BLOWS MY MIND NONE OF YOU GET BANNED!!!!!! I will still be on the board but I'm keeping my thoughts and ideas to myself from now on (and I know I will still get flamed after writing this).

Yes those are red bolts, they got scratched up when i lowered my car so I painted them red, my bad (flame some more), it looks good from my perspective but my perspective must be way off, huh? my car looks alright in the picture but i guess you flamer fukcs stock cars and your 2 cents must look so much better ....

On a lighter note my fingers are tired, but I guess it will be the last time I post something this long to share my mind with others. Please Please Please use this as a benchmark and change your ways, I did this for the love of the HR 350z (its an undiscovered beast we need to slowly tame together lol), and the people (YOU) I wanted to share my discoveries with. Not to get hated on. .

Sound is great compared to stock and really wakes it up a bit. I have since ran the car in the rain, no problems at all.

You're a teen aren't you?

OP, as a hoosier, and seeing you're from STL, I'm a little offended at your self-insult in your title to this thread. I won't call you a hoosier for hacking your 07 apart, but I will call you a redneck. Hillbilly engineering FTW!

Thanks, but I was actually making a case for researching before chopping up your car.

Can we have a teen mod section sticky? We can fill it with unbolted exhaust mods, duct tape and dryer hose mods, this one and other cheap mods. This will be especially for the teens that spend every penny on their Z so they have no money for anything else. Or jobless teens who's parents bought them the car and pay for insurance.

We don't have a clue? Surely you can't be serious. YOU'RE the one that has no clue. You hacked up your stock airbox for what... sound? And how can it be your OPINION that there's no heat issues? You removed the part of the airboxes that guides cooler air in, and left the filters exposed inside the engine bay... guess what air they're gonna suck in now?

LMAO@stock cars. I know mine sure as **** isn't stock and neither is 90% of the cars on this forum.

What knowledge did you contribute... don't do something you already know you shouldn't do?

Don't get ****ing pissy because people who actually know how the car works are telling you it was a retarded idea to do this.
