Question Slave Cylinder Question

Saturday morning I had a magnaflow SS exhaust put on, so bottom line it's really too soon to definitively tell the difference....
OK, it's been a week since the slave cylinder was replaced, and the exhaust was installed. The car definitely has more "zip". Off the the line and thru the gears it perform noticeably better. Can't tell if it's the slave cylinder or the exhaust, or a combination of the two. More importantly, what is the slave cylinder and what does it do?

The differece your feeling is a combination of the exhaust and upgraded slave cylinder. The slave cylinder pushes out on the clutch fork and bearing, thus disengaging the clutch.

slave cylinder is a hydraulic part in your clutch system that has no bearing in how quickly your car accelerates. If you noticed a change its a combination of 2 things. 1 being the exhaust adding some power and 2 your probably putting the pedal to the floor a bit more often and driving a little harder cuz the car sounds faster.

Thanks I wondered what it did. As for the acceleration, there maybe some truth in all the posts. Car sounds better (roars at WOT), so I probably rev it higher, feels like it does have some difference (a little stronger), and without a dyno this could be the result ofthe better weather we've been having in the DFW area.

Thanks Again,

I will promise you that your acceleration improvement comes in no way by the slave cylinder fix. That has nothing to do with power levels but rather the clutch engagement/disengagement. So if anything it should feel better shifting but will not improve how fast your car is.

+100000000000000000000000000

the slave cylinder only has to do with the engagment and disengagment of your clutch. the difference in power that you feel is all coming from the exhaust.

I am in agreement. I'm just enjoying the result. The car shifts smoother and faster. I would have never thought an exhaust made a noticable difference.
Now, if only technasquare could finishup the HR reflash...................

I think you and every other HR owner out there feels the same way.
