I have an '07 and am available for testing, but am unfamiliar with this company, so I'm a bit hesitant.

intakes are all the same. if you dont like it, take it off. at least you get a free dyno out of it.

 

$60 for this company's CAI intake tubes, filter, and hardware for the DE...wonder about the quality...

tehres really not much to an intake. Its a metal tube with a filter. I think its great a company can sell products at these prices. Most of you guys payin 300+ are just payin for the name. I know. I bought the AEM intakes when they first came out for $440

 

I'd be more concerned over the quality of the air element than the tubes.

 

i apologize. i copied the wrong details. it's for short ram intake right now, but we will also do measurements for a cold air intake...

we've done a couple of dynos ranging from is350, mustang GT, tsx, and 07 civic si and all have competitive hp gains compared to other companies..

 

Those cars you listed dont have an efficient air box like we do. *cough* TWO intakes that we have. CAI is probably something you should do, since nobody has yet to make one.

 

that is true ZPK, however, the IS350 has an efficient air box also.. the intake utilizes a air duct that brings in air directly to the filter box and straight to the throttle body.. the 350z may have two intakes, but we will work on something similar.. it will be a cold air intake hopefully as we need one for testing..

+1 all the cai's i've seen actually lose torque at lower revs. I'd rather have that extra torque down low than a few hp up top. and on top of that it's a b*tch to get to the filter to clean.

 

in any piece of work you do involving air flow - increasing the diameter of the piping will always for ease increased air flow (more power at higher rpms), however, it will loose the pressure drop due to increased cross-sectional area. this is true both for intake and exhaust components.

it's not something you can bash on because of a company's product - they'll all follow this trend.
