Default Wrinkle Red engine cover for HR

I've searched and could not find this, i think i've seen it before.
But does anyone have any pics of the engine cover in red wrinkle finish? for the HR of course.
I'm so down to do this, but I would like to see a picture of it 1st, it could be just a picture of the engine cover having red in it.

I'm thinking about doing ONLY the silver in red wrinkle finish, or a satin red.

i think you are talking about the 3.8 liter japanese motor. I know i've seen a satin red cover before which looked very good and is probably what you are talking about.

Ummm I think he's talking about just painting the battery cover and such along with the top cover of the HR engine red. He's probably seen it on Profink's car as he has done this exept by himself and wants to know if you can buy these instead of paint them? IDK its my guess

This was a popular mod with the evo crowd.

Never knew the Z had a cover like that. Would make a great JDM addition IMHO.

super black you are the MAN! that is EXACTLY what i was talking about, ok i'm sold. now to do satin red or wrinkle red, hmmmmmm.

and *** buying pre-painted parts that you already have! lol. i like to do **** on my own, and say to myself, i did that. i've painted my own front bumper while i shaved the emblem/ air duct, and i've also painted my own wheels gold. and NO RATTLE CAN. except if i do this engine cover in wrinkle red, because i don't know what to do add to my base coat to get that wrinkle effect, is it an additive?

Wish we had a rep. system on here, so i could rep you super black.

don't do wrinkle red. If it was on metal or something, then i would say yes but i think on plastic, a flat/satin red would look awesome. I would do the same if i had the HR motor.

yea that makes sense, satin red it will be.
Damn I want to do something in wrinkle red in my engine bay somewhere, maybe the body brace going across? hmmmmm, but i was thinking about doing the body brace the same gold as my wheels, but then that would look a little wierd with the satin red huh? *** it, and just do the engine cover in satin red, and the body brace in wrinkle red?

So i dont have patience and i've taken the cover off and got it prepped taped off and ready to shoot. It already has a wrinkle texture to it, so a satin red + the wrinkle effect is going to be nice, exactly what I wanted

I used PPG "Flat and Flexed" It's a semi-gloss clear coat that is already flattened, idiot proof, lol. and you just add more clear to it if you want it shinier. I've painted it all now im waiting for it to cure and install tomorrow. I think the red base coat that I used is a little bit too bright but not sure. I dont know what to call it because i mixed it myself lol. should have added alittle bit more black, but of well. pics soon, ima wash my car b4 lol. and if i wash my car i'll probably detail it. so pics prob. this weekend.

It's not a popular mod for the Evo crowd... it's how our valve cover comes from the factory. It's not even an engine cover like the Z anyways... we don't have engine covers (until the Evo X came out, which still comes red and black).

I think the red engine cover would look good, but only on certain color Z's (like black, red, white, silver). Others should be color-matched to the car. The crinkle finish IMO won't look good. I think a gloss red would be hot.
