Default belt ripped apart

I have an 07 with 8100 miles on it. I've had the z for almost a year now and hardly ever drive it and I went to change the air filter today and I noticed that my belt was ripped to shreads and I had oil everywhere on my air dam(splash guard). Has this happened to anybody else?? I don't know if this was just a bad belt but that doesn't explain all the oil. What do you guys think? I'm not going to lie I can't figure out how to put pictures on here so if you want to see pics let me know your email address and I will send you pics.

Not sure about the belt/oil. fwiw I can help you with the pics. Just create a photobucket account to host your pics. Upload them onto photobucket then copy and paste the image tag into your post.

Good luck.

Your serpentine belt? Are you sure it's oil and not power steering fluid? Almost sounds like something like the PS pump may have failed and let the belt run itself to pieces, that would also explain the liquid. PS fluid is usually red but it would look a lot like oil on black plastic shroud.

Check your levels, both the PS reservoir and the oil, and clean it off well in case it's PS fluid - the stuff eats paint badly.

HTH & good luck. Warranty should cover at those miles, too.

Very unusual.
Do you have after market pulleys installed?
Where did the oil come from?
Is the dipstick tight?
