Installed AAM test pipes and true dual exhaust today
So I was going to do it my self but after looking at the cats I realized there was no way I was getting them off on my own so I took my 07 redline into a muffler shop. Needless to say the guy installed my test pipes and exhaust in about 2.5 hours. I stayed around and watched and MAN the bolts on the cats were almost impossible to get off. He had to use a torch on every bolt and my O2 senors got all messed up when removing them from the cats so I had to order new ones. Let me tell you there is a huge difference in power and acceleration. It screams and picks up so much quicker. I have AAM 2.5 test pipes and AAM 2.5 true dual exhaust. I bought the Nismo CIAs but I dont know if I even want to install them if it is a power loss. Im sending in my ECU into techno square for the reflash and then Ill post again, but I am super happy with the AAM products and plus the polished stainless steal mufflers look so good at the back of the car!
is that stupid loud or what cause im thinking of getting headers and test pipes but i dont want my car to sound stupid loud, the greddy evo tt is already pretty loud and difficult to talk under 3k because of the ressonance.
Replacing test pipes are a *****. be very extra careful changing when swapping your factory cat converters for aftermarket ones cat converters or test pipes. chances are you will have to replace them cuz these sensors are extra sensitive! I think they are about 50 bucks a pair.... good luck
The sensors are cross-threaded on most 07 models. I took mine to Function Tuned and they wouldn't even come off with a torch. The only way to do it is to strip the factory sensors and buy new ones. I think they cost around $98 each.

i had test pipes, and then went to berk hfc's and had the cel cleared, and it came back on after about 200 miles or so....is it possible that the test pipes ruined the o2 sensors? also, lemme know where you ordered new o2 sensors from and how much they cost....thanks

I took mines to a professional shop that has experience working on Z's. You can take the OEM sensors out, it may be difficult, but it can be done.
I had mine taken out and the guy took them out without a single issue.

Some can be taken out and some can't. It depends how the factory puts them in.
I took "mines" to a professional shop also. I think Dave knows what he's doing. If he could take them out then I think he would have.
You could assume that.
I seriously doubt that Nissan lets factory workers assemble their parts differently. That would ruin their quality. I am sure they have some sort of assembly line that follows a set of instructions closely and thereafter is inspected to make sure proper fitment was made.
But hey, what do I know.

sensors at the local stealership are 150 a piece and none of the local car parts store carry them because supposedly they're a new kind or something that they wont stock.

So what you're saying is Nissan has different methods of installing o2 sensors from factory? That seems highly unlikely
