I'm gong to end up doing it myself. I wish I had a lift.

my car has 18K miles on it, it shouldn't be too bad to unbolt.

I just got off the phone with Stillen and apparently they had a special last month on the intakes for $429. Figures that I'll get the intake tomorrow and I won't have my car.

Im sorry for the quality. Im using my digital camera and the microphone in it sucks. Cause according to these videos my car really didn't get much louder with the addition of a catback and test pipes. But believe me this ****er was loud. I didn't have the ***** to do a third run due to all the dirty looks i was getting from 70 year old's in camry's. Anyways enjoy and hopefully we can get some dynos in soon

I could tell it's louder... especially after start up. It's better to get looks from 70 year olds, than the CHP.

you don't really need a lift to do this. if you're mechanically inclined, it shouldn't take more than an hour to install it. byron from injen took about 40 minutes to put mine on.

I've done a full exhaust from the header before, but this was on a civic, there was much more space below. The problem for me is, my jack doesn't lift very high.

I see you had that intake on the driver side vibrating as well. I'm going to buy some of that foam double back tape and put a small square on the intake to stop the intake from rubbing that corner.

Yea i did and the engine sounded wierd. BUt that foam i put took it away. But when i had my car at Fast Intentions Tony was like who the **** installed this? And he just moved it around and now I don't need the foam anymore. It wasn't designed incorrectly, if your rubbing it jsut wasn't installed correctly. Just try playing with the intake ube location by roattiong it.

Sorry i know this is off topic, but where did you get your red samco sport hoses? And also, did you spraypaint your strut bar and engine cover?

Default Injen Filters- Not the best choice

Avoid using oiled cotton gauze of foam filters on your 350Z

Oiled cotton gauze is not, nor was it ever designed to be, an engine air intake filter media. It is poor in terms of engine protection and efficiency. The restriction curve is dramatic once light loading begins ( it gets dirty ). That means an interruption in flow and a resultant power/torque loss.

Take a look at what is actually inside one of these filters!

Particulate in the single digit micron size is sandblasting the cylinder walls and combustion chamber of your Z. To give you an idea of this particle size, there are roughly 300,000 microns in a foot. Now look at the gauze and ask yourself how effective it can be at preventing this. Any idea of how hard an air filter works each day? When you consume one gallon of gas, the engine consumes a 1 cubic foot stacked column of air that would reach higher than the tallest skyscraper! How about a tank full? It would exceed Mt McKinley!

Why is the oil necessary? Are users actually going through the cleaning and oiling process? Removal, washing, drying and oiling and re-install sounds like a full day process to me. The cleaners are nasty to work with. Just read the instructions and the warning label. Consider the impact this has on the engine management system components like the MAF, and now a potentially more serious concern, the carbon systems.

Better options are available.

You mean the before and after dyno for the injen intake that I said I wasn't going to do because there wasn't enough interest in? I did end up swapping exhasut and intakes and dynoing wiht a gain of 15whp. Went from Fast intentions dominator to intimidator and stillen long tueb dual intaek to injen intake with great gains. Other tahn that i'm sorry I didnt' do an independent dyno. I asked around for interest because i didn't really care, and i didn't really get any...
