why not just goto a exhaust shop and have the put 2.5 in flanges on and stretch the pipe wider to make it match

I lost faith in mechanics, ever since I took my car to get my stock cats removed and they F A I L E D. However I did the job myself, no lift, no impact wrench, and no one to help. Also this is my DD.

Well sorry to heard that. But how willing to change exhaust system without lift?

lol i understand that i try to do all my own work. but letting them put a 2.5 flange on with just expanding the pipe a little will be an easier fix.

It shouldn't be too bad... I'll need to dismount the W shaped chassis brace underneath the car, unbolt the 4 cat/x pipe bolts, dismount the exhaust from the 1st 2 rubber hangers. Tilt the pipes downward just enough to be underneath the cats, using a black sharpie I will then draw a nice circle to mark the grinding location on the outside and how far I'll make the angled cut inside, then I spend a few minutes on each side grinding the sides down with my die grinder.

The hardest part will be patience while grinding and the exhaust hangers.

I got rid of the rasp, the problem was the stock gaskets had too small of an opening, the pipes are aligned perfectly and the pipes matched perfectly afterall. I can now feel the difference. I'm going to try taking my car to technosquare tomorrow or friday =)

Good deal glad you figured it out. But why did you use stock gaskets with the hfc's. Didn't it come with some.

I got Fel Pro gaskets, the ones used for a 05 G-35... The stillen-bassani combo is killer... car runs smooth, no drone or rasp.

Subscribed for technosquare tune and Dynos. I have the bassani too and am skeptical about TP's so I am thining HFC's. I want to retain the awesome Bassani sound, but I want power too. Can you post sound clips?

Thanks!
