If you werent high on drugs, drunk, speeding, or doing stunts like drifting, then you simply weren't paying attention. Sorry to say that, but I dont see how anyone could hit a parked car for any other reason unless they were high on drugs, drunk, speeding, or doing stunts like drifting.

The good news is that youre not dead or injured.

Bro I always pay attention when im driving. Right after the turn i felt like someone else took control of the car. Im just trippin out right now cause i know i wasnt doing anything stupid. If i was i would say so. No point in lieing cause the cars screwed already.

You guys are right. Atleast im alive with no injuries. Thanks.

I was talking to the mechanic today and he said that he could fix the car as if its new. i have frame damage, air bags were open and some other stuff. You guys think i should fix it or buy a new one? It all depends what my insurance company says cause now the cars damage has to be 80% or more of what its worth for them to say its totaled. But i just want to know if you guys think its safe to fix it and drive and worth all that wait? Just want some opinions

You felt something take over the car? Something is amiss. Oh well. We can only speculate.

Sorry to hear of your shunt. From the pics you posted, it looks like your Z is repairable. The FM chassis is exremely rigid, but can be pulled on a frame machine. The rest of the damage (bumper, front subframe, lights, etc.) is straight bolt-on and the interior can be reworked as well. Since your Z is so new, the insurance company will most likely NOT total it (but the repair bill is going to be hefty).

The bigger issue may be why the accident occured in the first place. Only you can have the insight into what truly happened. From your description, it sounds like you think something else caused the accident (steering locked up, car understeered excessively, etc), but you have no proof or plausible explanation. It may take some time to remember all the details of what happened and piece it together.

On the plus side, the Z performed the way it was designed to, with crush zones activating as it rammed into the (side, back?) of the Geo Prizm. The airbags and restraint systems saved you and your passenger (bro?) from serious injury. Sometimes we take these safety systems for granted and forget that a "minor" accident like this could result in the loss of a hand, arm, leg or...life! Remember that your Z gave it up for YOU and your life resumes because of how it performed when you needed it most.

+1----- It wont help if you try to force yourself to remember. I was in an accident about 7 years ago. Oncoming car made left turn while I was going 45-55. He couldnt see me because he darted after a truck in front of me but I was in the next lane over behind the truck.

Next thing I remember is someone cutting my convertible top (91 BMW mtechnic II) and pullng me out. I took out his front third of car-- his engine was literaly in the street. It was a mitsu galant 01/02 ? then I spun several times and went up a sidewalk totaly jacking up my cars suspension. My tires/rims ended up looking like when the delorean takes off in back to the future!

I tried forever to remember all the details and only last month it started coming back to me....every single detail.I never saw the impact because I had looked at my radio to see what time it was.Still unavoidable and totally not my fault but perhaps I could have avoided it.

+1.....I think someones pride is getting in the way of the real story. If your paying attention then you don't hit parked cars.

That was just stupid. I'm hurtin right now. Car was supposed to go in shop Monday for headers, TPs, jic ypipe, exhaust, ecu upgrade, and clutch and flywheel. May still, I don't know. I just had it lowered and added wheels. So I'm feelin ya bud. Take care.

I wasnt drifting or doing anything stupid. There is no skid marks or anything. I was making the turn and the next thing theres smoke in the car with the airbag in my face. I have drifted my car before and handled it. Im not saying like a pro but I do a pretty good job. ive never lost control and this time i didnt even try to drift. It rained in the morning but it was all dried up. No one believes me. Everyone says i drifted but I didnt. My dad came to the crash site and said that i didnt drift because there would be some sign. even the cop said i couldnt have drifted.
The car I hit was a 92' Geo Prizm.
And No im not on drugs or have medical problems or anything. Just bad luck?
c'mon, fess up, you and your brother were out on a joy ride and took a turn WAY too fast and then hit the parked car out of the turn didn't you?

if that isn't the case, than how is it that two people in the car fail to see a parked car that's 1 house AWAY from the curve AND if you were turning at the prescribed maximum speed limit for turns (is it 15 mph in the US?) then how did your z incurred so much damage?

If he showed us a picture of where the respective cars were located with a map of the streets where this occurred, in addition to any skid marks, the damage to both cars, and other aftermath factors, couldn't simple physics figure out the basic speed at which he may have been traveling, the angle of the impact, and in turn come up with a possible working theory as to what may have truly happened?

It's not unusual for accident victims not to remember details of the accident after a while, and it may or may not come back. There's been plenty of cases where people give a description of what happened to an officer or insurance agent right after the crash. But after a couple days, can't remember anything about the crash. It happened to a friend of mine who got t-boned, too.

Is there a ghost in your car or something? If you really were in fact paying attention, this woudlnt have happened. If you really were going a reasonable speed like you said, I do not see how the car could magically lose control. You seem to have a stock suspension, tires, and wheels, so it is unlikely that any of those things could have contributed to loss of control. The Z should have been able to handle fine.

But im just skeptical. You could be telling the truth, but it just seems too unlikely to me.
