lol, i think you've been watching too much CSI

but there's no question that the OP's story has some huge holes in it, things just don't add up. as much as i would like to say, "it's only a car, at least you're okay" it scares me to think that there are 20-year olds driving in residential neighbourhoods in high hp sports cars hitting parked cars because they felt that "someone else took control of the car".

Hey man it is what it is. Im not gunna lie about what happened. I wasnt going slow on the turn but i definitely wasnt going fast. It was a speed that anyone could handle at a turn specially with a Z.
There were no skid marks or anything. So i wasnt drifting. No one believes me. even some of my family members.

Thats what i was thinking but the guys at the body shop said its a new car so the damage has to be 80% of the cars price which is around 20k. He said it'll be hard to total it out.
I kinda want it to be totaled cause i dont want to drive a car thats been crashed but then i test drove some cars over the weekend and nothing beats the Z.

and this is where the HUGE hole in your story happens and implies the following:

either ..
a. you couldn't handle a "medium" speed turn with no traffic around you and dry road conditions. this means you shouldn't have a license or be on the road without being re-tested for competency.

b. you have a medical condition which caused you to feel like "someone else took control of your z" mysteriously. this also means you shouldn't have a license or be on the road without special medical provisions.

i don't think most of the people here are arguing with you per se, we just smell BS when we see it and call people on statements that look fabricated or make no sense.

Theres no huge hole in my story. I dont remember exactly what happened. Theres no reason for me to BS about this.
And your opinions arent true. I know how to handle my car and ive done it in very small places where if i didnt know how to handle my car i wouldve been dead. This time i didnt even try to drift. Dont believe me but it is what it is.

Keep in mind that skid marks may not be visible if the pavement was simply damp. You mentioned it rained that morning, but that it (appeared to have) dried out. It's possible your front tires simply slid (leaving no rubber) on the street, but clearly, you were going fast enough to do some real damage.

As I said before, only YOU can have the insight to figure out what really happened. That should be a priority before you get back behind the wheel...

go drive a beater for a few years until your insurance goes down. not only will it be cheaper, but you will be older, and more capable of handling a car like a 350Z

theres the info we were missing. Obviously if you don't think you were going slow then you were taking the turn to fast and lost control. It explains hitting a parked car and the amount of damage. [/thread]

I don't watch TV. Anybody with a bit of knowledge in physics should be able to give a rough estimate.

Just like the one you posted pictures of, right?

Maybe there was an insanely strong gust of wind or an invisible giant hand that pushed your car?

At least the OP isn't getting all pissy at us for saying these things. Good luck with whatever happens.

Who cares what happened, honestly. As long as OP is ok, then it's all good. No point arguing over how he crashed.

I got dibs on the injen intakes if you decide to sell.. I'm local!
