I have a general question about email retunes if anyone can shed some light on it. What I'm curious about is, how aggressive do they tune it when you send them the data? I'm thinking one can only do so much with just an A/F and timing curve, without having the actual vehicle to monitor anything that the car might not like. Let's say the tune they resend you causes knock, do you email them another log for another retune to resolve the issue, or do they simply tune on the conservative side to prevent that type of problem?

TK

Not aggressive at all. We try to stay safe with eTune updates because we can't verify and adjust rapidly. The key though is that we do adjust your tune for your vehicle rather than leaving you stuck with a Base Tune.

Thats why we're expanding our list of Pro Tuners (posted 3 new guys a few weeks ago) and we've also released the Osiris Tuner for people that want to tune it themselves or are already working with a tuner to get the most out of their car.

BTW, list of modifications SOLO?
We're not competing companies though. Cobb offers what BullyDog offers, static tune hand held devices.

We can offer a product that can be adjusted specifically to your vehicle, no hand held included, and you can do a full 650+whp twin turbo tune with our product. Neither Cobb nor BullyDog offer products to add forced induction tuning to cars that come stock NA.

David has a beta system that he is currently checking out.

For everybody thinking about Cobb ap, you might like to know that jared at uprev was the one that developed the program a few years ago.
John was the one that developed it, he's our developer.

I'm sure they replaced him with an army of people.

No curves for you yet Mr.

We're still toying around with things. Learning more than we expected.

I wouldn't expect huge gains, being stock, but so far we're seeing good smoothing. The HR motor looks to be a real bad ***, and the adjustments keep coming.

We're hoping to get some forced induction support check next week too. It's going to be nice entering 2009 with our Pro Tuners having access to all the HR cars out there.

Anyone kind enough to bring a VVEL car by for a few days the week after Xmas?

DE cars came with fairly shoddy tunes from the factory.

Even with smoothing set to ZERO on the HR it's damn near glass smooth from the factory. Nissan finally got the VQ right with the HR, and their sensors look a ton more stable on these car. We're seeing gains at the top end which points to a few breathing mods to make good power.

I know you're itching to do some fun stuff with the car and it looks like the HR is going to take to it real well with the tune to back it up.

Hopefully Sam at GT Motorsport can help us verify how well these HR motors run with some boost. I think there is a ton of potential there.

Is Osiris able to convert the engine to run on MAP sensors? If not is it possible in the future?

Thanks Richard! I can't wait to check her out in the morning. PS, www.myg37.com has a few that might be interested for a VVEL motor. One said he was.

Rich- I am one of the guys from MyG37.com that is interested in being one of the first to have Osiris for the VQ37VHR ECU. I have also been conversing with you via the contact page on the UpRev website. I actually sent you a follow-up email today requesting some additional information and to be put on the announcement list for Osiris support for the VQ37VHR ECU. Upon finishing the test on Solo-350Z Nismo HR and your trip to CA, will Osiris also be available for the G37?

Additionally, if you need a test car for the VQ37VHR, I would be more than happy to provide mine.

Results are up guys. Remember my car is bone stock other than K&N Panel drop ins. So the results will not be as good as a car with mods. The car gained a good amount throughout the powerband and upper. Peak changed a little but not much (that isn't important) The Mean is the important part of the whole power curve.

Now it's time to get some breather mods to help the tuning work better! The car drives smoother, accelerates smoother to me. So far I like it!

Richard and Jared are great guys. I definitely recommend them!

That's pretty good. But what is the process of getting maps? Considering I live an hour and a half away from Los Angeles (where there are tuners like GTM), there aren't any tuners available in my city. If I want to get UpRev, what can I do to get maps that are made for the modifications I have on my car?

I don't think it would be worth my money to have them tune my car..maybe for some of you highly modified bolt-on guys..

Not saying their tuning is a poor effort, but I believe I'll keep $700 over a few horsepower..
