Does uprev allow to switch maps upon demand?
I know from experience with cobb ap on my wrx - I can switch map to map within seconds whenever I want. Of course I have protuned maps to get most out of the mods. For example, map for street use with pump gas, and track use with race gas.

yes.
Osiris Standard includes Cipher and utilizes the Cipher cable to reflash and communicate with the vehicle through the OBDII Diag Port. Osiris Standard also includes Map Switching allowing you to use different tunes for different situations and 3 eTune updates you can use at any time.
Osiris Standard is a licensed based system meaning your license will be transferred to the first ECU that is flashed. This vehicle can then be flashed as many times as the user wants, but the flash will not work on any different vehicles. One additional license can be purchased at a discount for enthusiasts that may have more than one vehicle, contact us for details.
Parameters that we will tune include:
* Up to 5 Maps on cruise control equipped vehicles
* Idle RPM
* Speed Limiter
* Electronic Throttle Control to achieve Wide Open Throttle at all speeds.
* Rev Limiter
* DTC disable
* AFR Targets
* Fuel Compensation
* Ignition Timing Advance
* Cam Phasing for equipped vehicles.

OK, I am definitely a n00b when it comes to ECU tunes and reflashes, but will some clarify? If you are putting your car on a dyno and getting a custom tune for your mods, what difference does it make if you go with Cobb or UpRev? Wouldn't they be doing the exact same thing?

Cobb is a handheld tool, allows one map to be loaded to the ECU at a time, 10 minute flash time or so, Uprev allows 5 maps to be loaded and switched on the fly using the cruise control buttons. Uses a laptop to view live data (instead of handheld).
I own a laptop so would prefer uprev on all accounts.

Someone with uprev will have to correct me if I'm wrong on this (or a base owner with it) but you have to use a laptop to switch.
I think they are using the CC buttons to switch because they already have inputs to the ECU that way.
I'd ask them though for sure.
