the powerband peaks a little too soon, doesn't it? wouldn't it be better to shift it for maximum power between 6k-8k?

Engine break-in is complete, as well as the majority of the driveability tuning.

After low boost tuning on wastegate (5.8psi), the car is producing nearly 400whp! Very impressive numbers on our dyno - in fact this is the most power I've witnessed at this boost level from a VQ. Higher boost to come soon!

^^^^^^^^....I apologize if I missed the build sheet... but what (if any) cams are you using and what comp. pistons are used....400 hp at 5.8psi on a DD dyno is very very respectable!!!!

In your opinion Hal, what makes the HR perform so much better??? does the plenum design and dual intakes really make that much of a difference???

We will put together a blog post once it is wrapped up, tuned on higher boost. I am not certain the power can be attributed to one thing, but the intake definitely helps.

Very expensive but very worth it.

What boost setting did it take for you to achieve 518?

So let me get this straight.. you rebuilt your engine and spent all that money just for 518hp!!!! you can get that from a stock engine and saved your self the headache

The car maxed out at 518whp on our Dyno Dynamics (notorious for reading low) with a single Walbro pump. A twin pump setup with a return system was not part of the original quote, as the customer wished to remain at low boost for a bit. However, our customer has expressed interest in proceeding with the fuel setup to support more boost and more power. The car is certainly capable of much more, and the built HR motor is, as Hal has said, nothing short of impressive.

Using our Stage 1 shortblock, this particular engine will hold 500whp and beyond (DD) safely and reliably for many miles to come. For customers looking to go for the big numbers in the future, building the block while having the turbo kit installed is always a smart and logical choice.

I will have a blog post with the other dyno chart posted by tomorrow.

Well we dynoed the car again last night and after a retune adding a few degrees of timing, 5 gallons of ms109 vp race gas on top of the 8 gallons of 93 pump gas it already had, and pushing the stock feed fuel system almost to the max and the walbro pump and 850cc inj we manage to make 541whp at 15.1 psi. We had the dyno ambient temp at 44 degrees which when the car was at injected I think it was around 65-70 degrees an just for the heck of I we typed in 70 degrees and the car made 570 whp so car picks up about 30whp with 40 degree temps outside. We could have pushed it a little further but wanted to still keep it safe inj duty was at 89-90 on all the injectors but don't wanna gut the car. I can't remember what rpm made peak power and torque I'm thinking torque was 446 ft/lb. Ill upload the graph when I get off work also got some vids from the dyno and it some vids of my friends new z06 with stage 3 cam and longtubes mild to wild switch and Rps twin disc clutch I'll upload also...next thing for me is to get a return fuel system for my car and turn the boost up more...will post vids in different post tonight or tomorrow...

I don't pretend to know a lot about F/I... I'm still learning a lot everyday... but let me get this straight....

5.8 Ibs = 395.9 whp on a D.D.
15.1 Ibs = 541 whp on a (D.D. i'm hoping...)

although you were in cooler air (which should've helped power) adding a bit more timing (which should've helped power) and race gas (which makes less power/ amount of fuel but makes you able to run more boost ). I am not understanding why it took 2.7x more boost to make 145.1 more whp......

Shouldn't this engine be producing much more hp at this level of boost (not comparing it to other cars... only comparing it to the power it made before). I would be cautious because something might be wrong with the tune etc.....

I'm in no way flaming anything!! Injected has done a great job (as usual )... the HR is an awesome engine..... and by all means if you have the money to build internals along w/ a bolt on TT kit I think one should!!

i check CP's online catalog, and the pistons listed for the VQ35 were only for the DE... does this mean that the vq35de pistons CP offers are the same for the HRs?

im just gathering info to get my shopping started. Im also looking into an engine build soon...

With the temperature ste at 70 degrees on both synod nine would have made over 570whp but the guy that owns the other dyno, not at injected, he had the temperature at 44 degrees...with injected tune at 13 psi it made 513whp in their dyno and with sane tune at the other dyno it made 470 whp and with another 2psi and gas and 3 degrees of timing I made another 70whp...
