Default clutch sticks halfways up

when im letting my clutch out sometimes it will stick halfways up just out of engagement point or i will have to lift up on it with my foot. does the pedal and the pivot point just need to be oiled or greased or is it something more major? i searched and there was only threads about them sticking all the way down. thats not the case here, also my revs dont stick in one place or anything, the clutch will fully engage and then disengage but it sticks just out of engagement point. it does it when its hot, cold, warmed up, not warmed up, slow speeds, fast speeds... ALL the time (every 6-10 shifts)

ive already had the slave cylinder replaced with the recall deal, i have about 38xxx miles on it.

any info helps. its annoying the F|_|CK outta me!

(hope i explained whats going on with it enough haha

Mine did this when it was hot outside. Put new quality fluid in, and completely bled the system. Good as new now, no probs in the 105 degree heat we are having right now!

motul rbf 600... good enough to avoid the same issue around a road course with 100 degrees outside.

No, it shouldn't.

I think it is rather clear that he needs an OS quad carbon to fix this issue myself....

I was at Willow Springs last weekend for the www.speedtrialusa.com's two day open track event and my clutch did the same thing after the second session. As a matter of fact, three other Z's had the same problem. Two of them the clutch actually went to the floor and wouldn't come back up. We flushed and bleed the fluid with Ate blue and it worked fine. Beat on my Z for the rest of the day and the next day and the problem never came back. I guess it was the crapy fluid.

Welcome to the club. I took mine to Nissan and was told the clutch and all related items were working fine. I'm guess they didn't test it at the track...

did the op got the problem fixed?.. i think im having the same issue. After flushing/bleeding the clutch fluid, it still the same. Though not as much as before. Im guessing its about an inch down when i release the clutch pedal. It only happens on stop /go traffic. Am i just being paranoid? or its normal wear and tear for 78k , 06 model? During quick upshifts (merging on freeway) i have no problem. I've seen some comments that says a new clutch??, what does it mean? new clutch pedal?, flywheel/clutch disc combo?

Im lost..

Mine was related to the outside temperature being 100 degrees...
Seems to be fine when it's only in the 90's here (Washington state)

Did you use Motul RBF 600 and replace the original fluid, or did you just use OEM fluid again?

The clutch on my '05 was sticking on the way up when it got hot - due to driving or outside temp - I'm in South Florida.

The Motul solution worked for me, even though the shop that did the work never heard of the problem and didn't think the fluid change would help.

I'm very grateful for the wisdom shared on the forums
