Sorry to inform you, but if I installed it under the bumper, it would not close at all. At least this way it will close. I guess I am not the only one that didn't get the memo for the correct way to install a shroud. Maybe more of a personal preference?

There is no difference between the latch on the 07-8 Z vs the 03-06 Z. I know first hand because I have an 07 Rad support on my 04 car - everything lined up, installed perfectly. Part #'s are the same as well.

Im sure you know there are many designs of the radiator shroud, all I am saying is that if you incorporate the dip like some manufactures it would not have any problem at all closing, not saying that your design will.

So if others install them wrong, you should too? I have seen instructions for a few, and it shows to put them under the cover. But some people are lazy and don't do it that way. And if you put it under the bumper, that lowers it a little bit more and should give you more clearance.

Thanks Z1. I subscribed to that topic. Hopefully Koyo comes out with one.

the "dip" is only present on ones that are designed to go on top of the bumper. I've had all various types on my own car, from ARC, to Cusco, to whatever that replica Varis one was from a couple years ago

You have forced me to use paint to demonstrate why it will not fit the way you keep describing. Here is the same pic, the red square is the problem that most shrouds will not work. That has to be cut out more to make it fit. If I install it under the bumper right now it will not close. I have tried it and I know what your talking about. Its a temp shroud until someone makes a better one. What I demonstrated through the numerous pics is that about 90% of the people on this site installed it the same way I did, so in the eyes of this community its a acceptable way to install it. So once more, if I install it the "correct" way, it will not fit unless I cut it. Which at this point I feel no motivation to do since it works fine this way.
