Default Cooling Plate for 07+

I tried searching, didn't see any threads specific to our cars. Stupid question I guess, but are there any differences in the cooling plates for the 03-06 Z and ours? Most websites I found only advertise them for 03-06, so I wasn't sure.

Who all is using them on their HR? Pics? All the threads I found were DE engine pics.

Thanks in advance.

Currently there are no 07+ cooling plates. Although I have one made for a 03-06 and it kinda fits.

Kinda? Where is the discrepancy between the plate and our engine bay? Got any pics?

Well it really needs to be cut some to fit properly. It fits ok I suppose, I have to close the hood with my hands in order for it to catch with it on. Once I cut it there should be no problem.

We're making one....details coming soon, don't worry

The ARC one is the only one that fits currently, but you have to get one of the "newer" packaged ones. Not sure why, but they kept the same part #, and now only offer 1 type to fit all year Z's. Makes it hit or miss if you're getting the right one. Not to mention it's expensive

Probably going to start off with aluminum first - thinking black and silver as the 2 options? (open to color opinions if anyone has)

Possibly followed by carbon at a much later date - I'm a bit wary of carbon overall because at this price point, the quality tends to suck (or at best, be mediocre), and I don't want to offer something that I wouldn't use myself

Default Props at risk of derailing thread

I like this Z1Performance guy. It's nice to see a manufacturer/distributer that actually cares what their customer base thinks and wants. It seems nowadays that's somewhat difficult to come by, illustrated by all the "performance" websites out there that don't know/care that their parts lists are not accurate as to what years they supposedly belong to.

That's really been the most daunting roadblock for me- never really being sure if a part fits up to 05 06 07 or 08 because ten different sites list ten different combinations of dates. Thank god for Z1Performance, there is hope for American business yet!

No problem - I found out first hand after swapping an 07 rad support to my 04. The small pillar that the hood prop clips into is a bit wider on the 07-07 cars vs the earlier cars.

Rather than have to modify an existing unit, I'd rather just have one that fits straight away

Z1, keep us posted. I know I want one but in all honesty, I am too lazy to modify current ones to fit my car. Thanks!

I hear ya - I felt the same way. A simple piece such as this should just come out of the box and fit perfectly. I'll save the modding for more worthwhile things

I should have the sample back shortly, and from there, we'll go ahead

I'll start a poll thread tonight or color preferences, so we can hopefully narrow down 2 initial colors.

Do you know if it will span the whole gap, from headlight to headlight, or if it will be similar to the one in the photo where the intake holes are left exposed.

it is too difficult and time consuming to make it headlight to headlight. It would mean we would either only be able to offer it to those with stock intakes, or, we would then need to take into account every aftermarket intake in order to ensure proper clearance. Way too much to get involved with for such a simple part - we want this quick and easy for the maximum number of people

i have the arc one on my hr... fits fine... just a little scuff around the hood latch. i modified a greddy one for a friend of mine. it's aluminum, just get a dremel and have to trim a little bit. it's pretty easy... the mounting hole match up with the bumper tabs so there's no issues there. just the hood latch and the notch on the driverside you have to trim a little bit.

That is another problem that should be addressed. The 07+ shrouds should dip in the center to latch correctly.

Sorry Rob, but if you installed it right maybe you wouldn't have that problem. It goes under your bumper not on top of it.

Z1, any ideas what radiators for the HR would fit? I haven't seen any available, and for us track racers, we kinda need one.

Problem with the ARC is you don't know which you'll get. They changed it last year to accomodate the HR, however, they left the same part #. So, there is no way for a dealer to tell you if the one you're getting will actually fit the car. I know this because we recently got a bunch in - some fit, some didn't. That's what prompted me to just go ahead and get one made ourselves so that we would know it fits perfectly, without the need to modify anything.
