Default stillen long tube intake, good price...

Hey guys,
My first forum post.....

got my z a month ago, 07 enthusaist mt. I read most of the intake threads about them losing power, only injen is good, so on.

I went with gen 2 stillen. 249.99 at "everythingG35.com". Chose them because they look good. "cold" air boxes. and ease of filter cleaning. Plus they were a great price....

I spoke with the guys at Z1 during Znats.....has anyone though of the idea that dyno runs before and right after install does not give the ECU time to adjust for the increase in air flow???? Thoughts on this.

also thoughts on the gen 2 stillen?

"The filters sit inside custom-fitted urethane intake boxes, which ensure no hot engine compartment air gets sucked into the intake tract."

eh they're not really "long tube" like the injens. Instead of re-using most of the OEM plumbing, they just added their own shiny pipes and called them "long tubes"

true, not like injens. but i did not want the filters in the front bumper. I like the boxes stillen makes, easy to change/clean filter.

They were supposed to deliver yesterday, had to sign the delivery thing for them to leave it. Will probably install this weekend.

I'm interested in hearing your results. I've been bouncing between Stillen, AEM, and Injen...

I do not think I will do a before and after dyno.

but if you want my opinion....stillen > AEM simply due to the boxes that come with the stillens.

I got them in yesterday, I like the K+N filters they come with. It has a filter at the top, where the old cone styles were covered. Filters all the way around, especially good for the 350z since that is where the incoming air hits first, on the "hat" of the filter if you will.

Okay so the intakes are in and I am pretty happy with the outcome. The noise is worth the money alone. It is very loud and sounds badass! I have turbo xs exhaust and inside the car the intake noise is louder then my exhaust! HAHA. As far as performance gain, that is unclear as I reset my ecu and am waiting for everything to learn. I will keep you posted on performance gain.

I've had this intake on my car for over a year now and I've been very happy with it. Never put it on a dyno so don't know about before and after gains. Has actually helped with MPG when I drive sensibly. Also enhances the exhaust note and sounds very good. I like the Injen intake, just worried about water getting sucked into the engine, I just have that kind of luck and I don't want to have to worry about it.
