Test Pipe Question
I recently bought test pipes for my HR and I have heard that I should not utilize the mounts because of cracks on the welds in the long run. Any truth to this?
Here's the direct quote from the website I bought them from.
"These test pipes have mounting brackets just like stock but we suggest not using the brackets. The brackets cause the exhaust system to become to ridged and over time this will lead to cracking at the weld between the bracket and the race pipe."

testpipes are FTL. you should only be using testpipes if your going to be testing them for dyno or track use man. other than that its just gonna make your engine run RICH and overtime ruin the cylinder walls ! sell them save up some cash. get some HFC

as far as a DIY....really nothing to it. Go under the car and look at the stock cats, and you'll see if you feel like doing it yourself. Not hard at all, but you need proper extensions, etc. If they are halfway decent, they will be a direct swap. The fact that they have brackets that they tell you not to use is lame...because those brackets are now going to knock against the chassis of the car without being bolted to it.

After raising the car on a lift, I was baffled on how to get the top bolt on the left (if your facing the car) cat off. I used a swivel on a 24inch extension and still couldn't get it without slipping off the nut...no homo.
