Default CSC issue, Advise needed.

whats up guys.

So.. once my stock clutch died, i got JWT clutch combo kit with flywheel. After 10k miles my CSC failed for the first time. So i took my car to shop to change CSC.. 5k~ miles later it failed again! My car is my DD, so i had to do something about it, Z1 said they were going to release the CSC conversion kit. So i fixed my car and thought it would last at least for 5k again until Z1performance release the conversion kit. And once again my CSC died, this time after 2.5k miles.... it's ***** crazy. I don't know what to do right now, Z1 is not releasing the conversion kit anymore and my car has been sitting in my driveway for 2 weeks already.

I have a feeling it failed so quickly because of all the debris inside the hoses of clutch fluid system... what do you think the problem is that it failed so quickly? before it lasted at least 10k miles.

I dunno, I just need an advise from you all, what would you do if u were in my position? Go back to OEM clutch? Change CSC with whole system where fluid goes?

thanks!

I heard on the 07 plus if you got with a after market clutch the csc would go out unless it was the oem or excedy ( i think it was called that). You could try using the 370 csc wish i heard it was the same as the 350 but a better version.

According to Southbend and Exedy, they both informed me that in many (if not all) of the cases in which they saw/heard the CSC give out, the Z's were running a modified old style pressure plate (03 - 06). JWT is no exception. This old style pressure plate over extends the CSC, giving it possibly one more reason to give out. My suggestion? Go with Southbend or Exedy (Exedy Stage 1 or 2). Southbend seems to be more aware of this problem and is working on a clutch to help alleviate our CSC woes.

simply (if you have stock engine)... keep the lighter flywheel and put a stock clutch and pressure plate.
cheap, effective.

until the 370z crew will start complaining about the same issue ( I think HR and VHR engine has the same assembly there) loud enough to have those "parts designers" to pull their head out of their a$$ and do something that works instead of just asking for money.

Did you replace the CSC and Pipe assy when you put the JWT clutch in?

Anytime the trans is reomoved the slave needs replaced per the FSM. When you pull the transmission the CSC extends all the way out and any dirt on the shaft of the CSC gets in the seals and can damage them. Also if the new clutch is not set-up correctly (old style pressure plate from the DE motor) the slave will have to extend further out to actuate the clutch pressure plate, If you think about this, it is going to extend further into the dirty area of the slave seal shaft then it had to with the original OE clutch.

I think this is one of the problems when going to a new clutch, People are not changing the CSC during this process and it IS recommended.

How are your slaves failing? Leaking? No pressure? Pedal stuck to floor?

looking forward to talking to you tomorrow.

custompartz... I (I guess we all) appreciate your effort.
it's possible to have a full steel flywheel lightened and balanced of about 10/12lbs?
I think that with a medium aggressive clutch and quite "light" pressure plate would be the best "performance" option for an N/A HR 350/370z.

The DE pressure plate is already much lighter than the HR pressure plate, by about 3-4 lbs.
A steel flywheel will never be 10-12 lbs. and any flywheel that light will make the trans gears rattle just like the aluminum ones do.
I think a good 15-20 lb flywheel is plenty light for a street/track car. It will also quite down the trans chatter/gear rattle noise. You have to figure this is over half what the stock one weighs!

I run a 18lb billet steel flywheel in my personal Z and it works great. I had a 11lb Unorthodox fly in it before and it was just not fun to drive with it, RPMs dropped to fast between shifts, Couldn't launch the car worth a **** at the strip ect ect ect.
