Default Long Tube Headers.

I posted this on G35driver.com as well.

Will the OBX long tube headers made for 03-06 non HR motors fit our HR heads and bolt up. I have read that a certain combo of old 03 headers with 03 cats will fix later cars. Since the long tube is both, it may work. Or is some modifying of the header able to be done. This option seems like the ype of header worth using. Comments, input please.

Since DE headers don't fit on the HR, I'm going to say no.

Supposedly they fit if you change the cats also.

The problem with all this is, do the meagan headers make power?

I think the fitment problem you'll run into is the headers not clearing the steering knuckle

the main problem though is you prolly won't gain any power... cheap parts typically don't work... but if you do go though with this, get a before and after dyno...

I've seen it speculated about, I've never seen it established though

I've had other cars where the header that made the most power was a PACESETTER. A long tube header of a bad design will probly still make more power than a shorty connected to the stock cat. I just wondered if anyone knew if it fits.

pacesetter is an actual header/exhaust company, not a rip off make anything fast to sell before the other guy like obx is...

is there anyone out there who makes a Longtube header for the HR motor? I have searched, and nothing. SG motorsports comes up, i have e mailed them but i have not gotten a response yet, and their web site has no info about a long tube header.

SG said he's gonna start working on HR headers when the DE are completely done and in production. The DE headers aren't in production yet, so that means the HR headers haven't even been started yet...

really? that's unfortunate. i've just always disliked the idea of shorty headers and testpipes, more can go wrong with the flanges and gaskets and smaller things between the headers/tp's. maybe i'll just bite the bullet and pick up some longtubes.
