Update: I had to replace this pos bearing again last Friday . Unbelievable, I had put maybe 5k miles on the new bearing, torqued everything to spec with a Snap-On digital torque wrench, and it still went out.
I dont mean to bring up an older thread but I experienced this exact same problem today! As I posted earlier in this thread like many other Z owners had a driver side rear bearing fail at only 12k I replaced the bearing with my buddy at his shop doing all of the work to spec. This afternoon I did some work to the Z and when reinstalling the rear wheels I noticed about 3/4 of wheel play on the driver side again. I immediately removed the wheel and checked the axle nut and it was still very tight! Im guessing that a whole rear hub/bearing assembly is absolutely needed for a proper fix
The OEM is probably made by Timken, they make a ton of OEM stuff. I think the issue is what some have reported, I think the torque was wrong on some axle nuts from the factory, there can't possibly be this many bearings failing that early.
hey guys i have about 65k on my car and trying to wonder if I may have the same problem. Is there a noise that anyone can hear that may be a sign of such problems? I do notice a clicking noise when turning at slow speeds.

they aren't the OEM manufacturer afaik, NTN is
wonder why some have issues and some don't
my car is an 04, forget the exact mileage (around 57k), and have not had to do either a front or rear bearing

I bought 3 oem bearings and all of them went to ****. I think im gonna try the timken because they have a two year warranty
their warranty only covers defects, its not a blanket warranty. I've dealt with them before, not easy to get something covered. It's also only 1 year according to their site, though its a bit tough to understand
if you replace the entire hub and bearing assembly, I'd bet your issue would be solved. Once the bearing goes bad, if its allowed to remain in place, it tends to start causing wear on the hub at uneven places. Only way to verify would be a micrometer to measure that the hole is still perfectly round. If not, even though a new bearing is pressed in, it will fail in short order as well

Sorry to bring this back for i haven't slept all night and have work in 2 hours. Anyway, I replaced my rear bearings with new Timken pieces but reused the hubs. Problem seemed fixed, it was just quite and has now returned. I don't mind doing the "correct" fix and getting new OEM hubs and bearings but I want it to be fixed and done! I also plan on maybe new axle shafts from a local Nissan recycle yard. And new 32mm bolts for those shafts from the stealership. Oh I didn't mention that the bearings were replaces around March 2011. Around 8k miles ago. And the car is considered "hellaflush" slammed so I think that has something to do with the issue but I could be wrong.
