Default Mishimoto Racing Thermostat - not compatible with High Rev?

Recently purchased a Mishimoto Racing Thermostat for my 2008. 350z While the site says it works on a 2008 (http://www.mishimoto.com/nissan-350z...mostat-03.html) there is the extra "oil cooler" outlet per 2006 FSM that does not exist on the High Rev OEM thermostat.

Seems strange since an oil cooler isn't stock on 2006 unless they mean the heat exchanger.

Is there some trick to install this on the HR or is it just the wrong part?

Of course I didn't discover this till I spent an hour pulling out the OEM one Lesson learned; check new part against old prior to disassembly...

Thermostats are different on an hr

mishi ones are known to have "issues" on a variety of other platforms

what makes you think you need such a part even if it did exist?

Basically looking for any options to keep coolant/oil temps down at the track. Figured this was a cheap and easy since I was flushing the system of antifreeze and going to water/water wetter. I realize it only delays the inevitable oil temp buildup based on data logging. Spec'ing out oil cooler setups now...

fack . . . just found this on the mishimoto website . . .

Note: Thermostat housing does not fit the HR motors (VQ35HR). Thermostat can be removed from supplied 03-06 350Z housing and installed into the OEM 07-08 350Z housing.

but TSM advises against it . . says

CAUTION:
Do not disassemble water inlet and thermostat assembly.
Replace them as a unit, if necessary.

any suggestions guys ? ?

how is it going to keep your car cooler? All they do is open a lil faster. Once the car is at operating temp, either the stock or aftermarket is going to be wide open. There is absolutely no difference in cooling at that point.

Return it and get your money back.
