Exclamation Motor oil problem

Hi
I live in Kuwait the temp in summer From 102 f up to 122 in the morning so i lost my owners manual and I downloaded the us spesc it says that I should use 5w30 but the dealer here in Kuwait use 20w50 I have 2008 350z hr so I Bought pennzoil 5w30 I'ts kind of expensive 6.25 $ per litre anyway I noticed that when I stop the car the pressure goes below 30 psi so I freaked out and bought the 20w50 pennzoil after driving 650 miles on the 5w30
so I'm confused what grade shoud I use I know that the dealer here don't understand anything even the manager says he don't know and they use 20w50 for all cars all year round (armada -350z-altima-maxima...)
so plz help
weather in summer Nights 102 F in the morning up to 122 f
in winter From 45 F up to 85 F

In the summer I would definitely use 20/50 if I were using conventional oil, year round would be no problem either, but a 5/30 would probably be better during winter. Your summer temps are extreme, synthetic would be best.

My oil pressure fully warmed up is slightly under 30 as well - nothing to be worried about..

the high oil pressure you are getting is a function of the viscosity of the oil you are using; in your case such a thick oil will probably contribute to a higher oil pressure.. i'd use a synthetic 0w-40 weight oil like mobil 1 if I were you.

The reason why they use the 20/50 is because of the extreme summer temps. I personally would never use a 0 weight, synthetic or not, with your summer temps.

First of all thank you for your reply zeruck
I tried to put synthetic but I asked the dealer first because the car
is still under the warrenty but the manager said if I used synthetic
the warrenty will be void and talked to some technical guy in the dealer
garage he said that if I used synthetic and the engine had any major problem they
will take a sample of the oil used in the engine and send it to japan to be analysed
if it was synthetic they will not repair it Because of that I'm using pennzoil conv

You can run a 10W or 20W motor oil in the summer. Sure why not.

How is Nissan going to void a warranty for using synthetic in the Z? Synthetic will provide better protection then dino oil. Something seems off...

I know they say somthing about the sealing and gasket I didn't understand and I know they're Lying because they have a contract with total oil company but because of the Warranty I can't do anything
ps : I read that some guy in here or in other forum contact Nissan and
they replied that they don't recommend synthetic

I know it's ok but won't it effect the performance thicker oil will make it harder for the engine to move and it's highe rev up to 7500 rpm

I don't see how they can void the warranty when their manual only specifies that the oil meet API Service SM and be 5W-30. There's a certification mark and service symbol right on the jug of Pennzoil Ultra I provide to the dealer when I take my car in for service.

My dealer even offers a synthetic from their supplier, but they didn't know what brand it is. They give me a decent credit for bringing my own oil, and I always get the empty jug back, and verify it's the one I took in.

as I said they want to sell their type of oil and when I talked to them every employee send me to another until I went to the manager and he said if I used synthetic that will void the warrantie in US there are regulations that you can bring a receipt as I recall
of changing oil from any garage other than the dealer but here they insist that you do it under their roof or the warrenty will be voided so because of that I will not have the benefit of using synthetic oil*

For extreme conditions such as 100 plus degrees I recommend synthetic motor oil. But you can do as you please.

Run the oil they recommend. Get an oil pan spacer and an oil cooler and a larger Koyo R core radiator.

Can you get your hands on Pennzoil Ultra 5w-40, Schaffer's 5w-40 or 5w-50 Full Syn 9000, Mobil 0w-40, Castrol Edge 5w-40, and Catrol Syntec (German Castrol) 0w-30? Those would be one's I would try over the crap they are pushing on you. See if you can call Nissan of Kuwait and make sure you're not being bamboozled. Don't be scared by the lower weights.

Nissan's position on synthetic oil is that they don't recommend it in the Z... that is completely different from voiding the warranty, which they cannot do, on a whim like that anyway.
