1 owner, he was 65 years old and I doubt he drove it like I do

there is slight tranny whine in first and second gear mostly,

Car grinds 1-2 shift when under load,

Clutch sticks on launch AND hard shifts

Rear tailgate shocks are dead.

Very sqeaky,

Other than that, it is in PERFECT condition!

Sounds like you may want to address your trans before you start looking into a clutch/flywheel setup.

I hear the 1-2 grind while powershifting / smashing out is normal

and that the CSC not engaging fully can cause this, have I been misled?

the whine is very slight i hear it is common but i would like all of your input

WTF is the squeaking coming from the hatch ? Its so annoying! haha

1. This is not normal, most likely related to issue number 2. Depending on how long this has been an issue and not addressed, there could be some non-negligible damage done already.

2. Could be a pre-TSB slave. The replacement units still sink to the floor under repeated hard launches, aggravated by heat, but IIRC aren't prone to happening during shifting, meaning if it hasn't sunk at the launch, it doesn't usually occur.

The rest is pretty normal stuff. Number 1 will get worse over time, eventually calling for a replacement or repair. Number 2 is not worth fixing until you decide what to do with number 1, since the transmission has to come down for both.

As an HR owner, for the right price, this is a good purchase. The single issue, although somewhat costly, can be fixed in one go (new transmission and HD slave) Optional: clutch/flywheel.

Had I not owned an HR and known about the car, I would have let this one go based on issue number 1. Too many unknowns, but again, for the right price...

All issues have been adressed and fixed!

Mobil 1 flush of tranny and Lucas syn diff fluid + Syringe flush of clutch brake fluid and replacement stopped the sticking clutch 100%!!!

No more 1st to 2nd grinds unless driving like a complete dick and powershifting at WOT

Car is treating me amazing right now and I love it! Just bought some inifinity speakers and am going to install them tommorow!

put in my double din as well! looks great

Flushed all fluids going to change oil soon, previous owner was 65 and only ran mobil 1 since the birth of the car, i shall continue his legacy

Have acquired a brand new HX40 T4 turbo genuine holset for 400$! a triple inlet FMIC and a few other goodies going to make sure motor is stage 0 before it all goes on..

thinking mishimoto radiator + Greddy oil pan + custom oil cooler,

Loving this car, its suprisingly quick for stock! Just got my Top speed test pipes and am debating on whether or not to buy megan racing headers while im at it!

Want to do full bolt ons minus intake before turbo, since intake will go to waste anyways as soon as FI

judging by the problems in your transmission I would have to say the owner before you did drive the car as hard as you do. Maybe even harder. GL with fixing the problems and the car looks good.

I have a 55 year old friend with a 72-year old brother who owns a 2009 370Z. He brought it over to my garage the other week so I could do a fluid change on it for parts + $150 + two 6-packs of Elysian Stout. While I'm under his car, he asks me how fast I've taken my 350Z and I told him I got it up to 122 mph at Bremerton Raceway. He laughed and said that he took his speedo to the limiter during his cross-country trip from Seattle to Detroit. The dude is 72 and he redlined the m-fing car. Don't think that just because the seller was 65 that he drove like a 100-year old lady from Pamona on her way to the Pottery Barn. He probably bought the HR to squeeze out the last of that 20-year old mojo he had hanging out in his sack. In my experience, old guys in Zs like to drive like young guys in Zs.
