My New 07 VQ35HR! POWER
Hi guys, this is my first post here...
I just picked up a 1 owner 2007 350z 6 speed 1 owner with 85,000 miles on it,
car is in very good shape and he really took care of it.
I just put on a catback exhaust and am wondering whats the best way to make power?
before this I had a volvo 850 w/ .57 trim and NOS was wondering how tough these blocks are...I would like to make ~350-400whp
I hear with intake exhaust tune downpipe and headers it puts the VQ35HR in the ~290 whp range But i am very greedy with power....
Is nitrous ok to run on these? I do realize its a 85,000 mile motor and I dont want to run into any repair bills yet as I am still paying off the car..
any reccomendations? Sorry for the retarded structuring

first off if your clutch is sticking your slave cylinder is about to let go, look into the zspeed heavyduty csc unit.
second the block is fine for nitrous if tuned properly like most other platforms. and as far as power there is no kit that yields less that 450 whp for the HR, your cheapest solution would be the stillen SC kit that makes around 450 whp. theres also the GTM stage 1 and 2 SC's for our car which yield 450 whp and 480-500 whp when stage 2. Then there is the greddy and gtm TT kits which both can make good power. our stock blocks are good to about 530 whp is the safe limit at this point, some people have pushed 600 on them but i wouldnt personally. and when you add anything over about 350 whp your definetly going to have to replace the clutch if you drive the car with any enthusiasm which it sounds like you do if your launching it.

What 1/4 mile times do you run?

Wow
I cant believe how fast and helpful you guys are!
The volvo forums were trash....
So It seems I could easily make about 400+Whp reliably? Right on!!!
I was thinking a custom TT rear mount setup in all honest with remote oil pump/sump

LOL, He rags on me because my car HKS GT Supercharger kit only made 295whp and when I call him out on it.. no where to be found.
OP the DE at the moment is the better option for FI. There are options for HR but they're very very expensive.

I'm right here I'll run you on the track once I get me traction problems solved I have no problem running u no hard feelings no Matter what. I just don't have the cash to fund my traction needs and I spin hard almost to 3rd Ive been in contact with some guy with cobra replicas running a 315 rear if u wanna come to ny I'll run you but the closest track is in bj

Mind you I'd have to take out my Nismo diff and run a VLSD to make it "fair"... I'm running Michelin PS2's not DR or any R-DOT tire.

i actully just burned up the last of my toyo t1r's tonight comming home from work im getting new tires tommarow so i wont be launching it any time soon gotta save some money so i can get my drag set up to run flow and now i need a lsd
#19
Why do you need an LSD if you are just drag racing? A VLSD will be fine. I still wanna see a video of you burning out until 3rd gear because I just don't think you know how to launch. lol

heres a video i made cause someone dident belive u can power through traction control http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwGK7TFi6pE
it was wet i have another video somewhere of my new exhaust set up doing a few launches i try not to launch to hard to consurve my tires or i leave traction contol on and pull through maybe ill make a video tommarow before i go in for tires if it dont rain
