congrats on the numbers! i had stillen intakes, headers and HFCs with the nismo cat back and i pushed 294.5 whp... but i felt quite a bit of restriction - swapped to stillen true dual cat back and gonna go in for a retune in a few weeks. i too hope to break that 300 mark.

ran a 13.98 on the track runnin on hankooks @ 40psi (tire pressure) and 285s in the rear. definitely spins quite a bit. best way to launch with the HR (imo) is below 2500 rpms. i launched at 1800 and got the 13.98 otherwise i would average 14.4s but spun a lot at the line.

14.4 Is horribly slow, I would work on driver mod..

LOL @ launching 1800 RPM.... If your close to 300whp you should be deeeeep into the low 13's...

Why the hell are you running 40psi?? You should be launching at MUCH higher RPM, slipping the clutch and running 20-25psi for traction.... The launch is the single most determining factor in your ET

as far as lower HP reading with in a hotter day goes with different mods, I've heard a car loses approx. 1% power per every 10 degrees of heat. So 15 degrees hotter would be about 4-5 hp loss according to this formula.

Launching: I'm not running 13.1 quater miles but I find that launching at 3k and controlling the spin give me a better 1/4 mile time at 13.3-13.4 where as launching at 2.5k bogs the car and I end up running a 13.7+

I probably have killed my bottom end power though with hfc, catback, intakes, and light weight flywheel

btw, my tire pressures at 33-35 on 245

didn't have a air compressor to repump my tires up and didn't want to drive 40 miles home on 25 psi.
and my tires hankook evo 12s lost more and more grip as the tires got more hot. so when i launched above 2500 rpms i would just spin for a solid second (hence the 14.4s) once i started easing into the start (less spin) is when i broke into the high 13s i definitely aim to be in the low 13s... second time out on the track for me so i know driver mod is best mod at this point. last year i only ran her twice til my concentric slave cylinder (recall) went out.

Please refrain from giving drag racing advice when it is clear you cannot do it well. Ok. Thanks.

If you are shifting at 8k you are tuned....

Odds are you aren't making power that high. I really only rev out 1st to avoid a power drop in 2nd, usually shifting around 7400 is best for area under the curve.

I was able to manage a 2.05 60' on some worn out hankook V12 285/30/19 tires, ran a 13.4@104 basically stock. It's all in the launch.

If you aren't tuned then you gotta shift a little early, the car starts to close the throttles before 7500. I'd say about 7100 or so is best.

HFC's are just as illegal and will not pass emissions either.

Technically HFCs are illegal here in Calif. I have Fast Intentions 300 cell HFC and it's illegal here. Having said this..here in Ca, they are changing the smog test to OBD ONLY in 2013. This means NO SNIFFER..and since I have defouler set up, there is no CEL either. So when I test in 2015, I fully expect to pass. There is a visual as well, but they wouldn't know an HFC from a real cat if it bit em in the A$$.
