I'll like the way you are thinking. I've been thinking about working with my stock intakes as well. We get fresh air that is pushed by pressure from under the car. If we can slow it down at the top, or scoop it up & point it into the intake passages, we would still get fresh air but with a ram affect. I also have some exhaust ideas. Don't mind sharing, cause I will always have the "driver" mod

Driver mod is the best mod lol
as for intake ideas what do you think about the good ole scoops in the bumper? I dont see how that wouldnt work, especially on the road where air is forced directly into the intake not like on a dyno where there is no such thing, maybe a big a$$ fan of some sort but i doubt it generates as much air as wind resistance anything above 50mph

I want to try to bore out the stock manifold (yes i know its plastic but should still be possible) to fit 2 DE sized throttlebodies obviously with larger diameter piping with velocity stacks going into the stock air boxes with the pipe ending a bit behind the stock filter location then do the 3inch MAF mod and scoops in the bumper for RAM air.

+ Aggressive Cams
+ Long Tube Headers and a good exhaust

Anything that works is fine. FAN? Are you interested in a faster car or a piece of paper with numbers ???

My opinion only!
I would not do cams on a high mileage car.
I would not spend my money/time with headers. Big cost/time/aggravation may = a little more power or no increase, or lose of power. Opinion due to seing no results of an HR.....

lol i was comparing how a fan in front of a car during a dyno run is not remotely close to a car driving on the road, i could care less about dyno numbers. im interested in how my trap speed changes after mods.
yeah you know what they say about opinions

Wasn't there a guy on here that put some 370 long tubes and trapped like 113 n/a?

Yes, he had OBX long tubes and single exhaust and a tune I believe. Also a bad clutch.

If you want LTH, OBX makes a set and one of the fastest NA Z's on the forums runs them...

he is saying that OBX makes a set of long tube headers for the HR and that a member on here is trapping 113mph with them

I didn't know which z he was talking about. Unfortunatly that Z no longer exists. I was hoping to see that Z get a new clutch & see how it performed. I would have loved to have some company & competition at the track.

What I really would like to see is the et's & mph of the OTHER track passes.

14 second et & 113 mph seems odd. I guess if he still had the car, or post the other time slips, we would get a clearer picture.

Too bad. I wanted him to fix his clutch problem

There's a guy in Texas (MM08 350z)that will test his long tube headers soon. Looking forward to seeing results.

yeah i wouldve loved to see that car go with a good clutch, i think it got burned down or something.
I need to go back to the track, Im confident i can do a few tenths better than my 12.9 but highly doubt i can reach your 12.4. Just tight on money right now after buying tires and a tune plus freakin valentines day tomorrow and my girls birthday is 5 days after that haha so not fair.
Ill try to run next thursday

I wish you the best of luck. Just don't get too dissapointed. A "few tenths" is not easy to get when your in the 12's.

Thank you, I know I know lol it definitely gets harder .my 12.9 was a rather bad night ,mixture of bad 60' gear lock out and crappy DA so next time I have hopes for a better time, fixed my gear lock out issue, installing stock rear suspension as opposed to my coilovers which are pretty low and cambered out wayy too much during launch and the weather has been perfect here lately. So I got hope lol

Glad you put back the stock suspension. Why mess with a well build car?

Lay down some good times & I'll consider traveling to Florida

K&N drop ins = 0 Power. Stick with the the Stillen/Injen intakes.
