Hurting my engine?
I have a 2008 350z, and I put on a takeda intake system and a megan drift spec exhaust. It is pretty jerky in low gears, and when I if I let off the gas, I'll get a popping noise from the exhaust which I thought was backfire. I recently read somewhere this is because Im running lean? Am I too paranoid? I have this obd port scanner and have no codes.

Ive driven about a 1000 miles since I put on the exhaust and intake and Im afraid that i hurt my new z... thanks

Alright. How long is a long time? and im not sure what else to do for an hr thats worth besides a lighter pulley or like cams which im going to skip. Is the uprev tune a kind of thing where you can send in your ecu and they send it back to you?
the megan drift spec is already catless. And im going to take it to a local shop and have it tuned on the dyno. You dont think I did any permanent damage though right?

Cats are before the y-pipe, and as far as I know, the Megan drift spec is not a header-back exhaust system.. I have test pipes, megan hr y-pipe, and Megan drift spec, couldn't drive my car at all with that setup un-tuned. Got a base tune from RT Tuning with the UpRev software, fixed everything. I reccomend getting a tune ASAP. You never know how lean you are running, every motor is different. But, with stock cats, I'm fairly certain you aren't in any danger of being too lean. The stock ECU does a good job of keeping things from getting too out of hand IIRC.

if i can fit two golf bags in the trunk then i can probably fit a y pipe lol. What I meant was if I installed the y-pipe the night before, could I drive it to the shop the next day?
I'd replace the stock cats while your at it... make the most of your tune that way. It's a pain in the *** on the HR, but it can be done with multiple extensions, (make sure they are 1/2 though, not that ***** 3/8 shizz) on jack stands, along witha 5 foot jack handle lol.. otherwise figuring on paying the shop a few hours worth of labor.

It'll be a small amount, it's more of a sound mod IMO. Maybe 1-2hp? Idk exactly. Stock cats are restrictive, so youll see a better gain getting rid of those.
Edit: Didnt read that carefully enough... haah
test pipes will yeild a more signigicant gain, depending on the tune possible 10+ idk exactly though. I'm thinking I'm in the high 290's with my setup.
