Please tell me i didnt ruin my CSC !!!???
Got my new south bend stage 2 clutch kit in today and as inspecting it all my 7 year old self slowly mashes in the csc about half way. I dont think i ruined it or broke it or whatever but is it possible ? these things cant be that sensitive right ?
need opinions asap. my appointment for install is tomorrow and id hate to bring this broke csc there !!

yes, mine (and one i helped install) would not pop all the way up, when that happens.. with the clevis still attached... you turn the rod clockwise (which would be the same as turning the clevis counter clockwise un attached) until the pedal pops up all the way and no more....

Man from one grown man to another. Clutches terrify me. I'm like a 4 year old trying to do Algebra...

The reason we dont want you to compress them is 2 fold, The seal floats and when you press it back with no pressure in the system the seal moves back and doesn't return with the bearing, This makes it a bit harder to bleed until it moves back forward all the way. This doesn't normally hurt anything though.
The main reason we don't wan them pressed (this goes for any CSC) is when you press it with your hand you don't compress it evenly which can cause the retainer to scratch the sealing surface of the seal if it compresses cockeyed. Again doesn't normally cause any damage but just something that should not be done and is why we put the big sticker in there that says "DO NOT COMPRESS"
